Large worms and setup
I just use a standard T rig hookset and haven't had any reason to change.

Large worms and setup
I like the Zoom Ol' Monster, Netbait C-Mac, YUM Mighty worm, Strike King Bull worm, and the 10" Power worm. I fish them on homemade swinging football heads that I pour with a 5/0-7/0 EWG hook. I usually just drag them slowly along the bottom.

Jig Lures
Did you buy the skirted structure jigs or the plain ones? I use a trailer either way, but what type depends on which one you bough. Sounds like you rigged the shakyhead right. You could also thread the worm on the hook and use it as an open hooked jigworm.

dealing with rude ignorant people while fishing
Call the police, don't take it into your hands unless you have no other options. Today's world is not the place to try to be a Lone Ranger. If you really believe that the people that are there are gang members and possibly doing illegal things you can let the police know that they're there and they can try to contact them. Most likely they're not going to want to hang around an area if they keep having run ins with the police.

Tried searching the Ned rig post and..
I whipped that one pretty fast and was putting a lot of heat on it since we were in a tournament at the time, I didn't want it to take half an hour to land it. The 65 the day before still only took about 10 minutes, but it was a way harder fight.

I forgot to turn off my baitfeeder on the river once when I had a good run and blew up a big Okuma Epixor 90 baitfeeder, it's not pretty.

I pretty much stick to the swim-shake-glide retrieve, trying to keep it very close to the bottom, although I will deadstick and drag or stroll as well. the SSG was my retrieve of choice when that smaller flathead bit. I was using a St.Croix LTB 6' 10" ML/XF rod with a 30 size Pfluegar Supreme XT, 24lb Gliss with 8lb Pline C21 for leader.

They were nearly done spawning during the BBB 2 weeks ago with water temps in the mid to high 60's. I wouldn't put any stock in spawning fish.

Tubez and Danielson jig heads
I haven't yet but I plan to for sure. I really like the Strike King Coffee Tubes and Pro Model Tubes as well as the BPS Tender Tubes. Don't really care for the Bitsy Tube very much.

shimano baitcasting reels quality
No, all righties.

Is the Ned rig just a small fish bait?
It catches everything for sure. I've caught a ton of whites and wipers on a Ned. I had one trip where I was hammering the wipers and a PB&J Ned was the only thing they wanted.

My buddy said he saw the Burton's tournament had 3 or 4 over 7 weighed in last week? I know the bass are coming back big time out there.

Use a Q tip to run a little oil inside the sideplate of the reel where your brakes contact and it'll fix that noise if it's the one everyone talks about. I do it with mine about once a month and it keeps them from making any noise.

I think the bi-weekly big bass thing is a good fill in for those that want to fish every week. If everyone is good with paying to enter the fish-off, then next year we'll know to do it every week and not worry if someone can't make it.
