Real Prey Swimbaits?
Mine do. They're durable for sure, and they do get bit for sure, but I have had issues with the Alewife running on it's side if I don't have the exact right retrieve speed. The tail action is more aggressive than a Hudd and there's some head movement whereas the Hudd's head stays pretty centered. I'd probably take the Real Prey over the Hudd for durability alone.

kayak recommendation
Keep your eyes open for something used. I bought my lightly used Ocean Kayak Big Game Prowler II for $400 ($1,300 new). You have to be quick though, the good deals don't last long.

Trolling motor transducer mount
You can easily make a bracket to mount the transducer from, or you can buy one of the transducer arms designed for a kayak and mount it on your boat. I wouldn't mess with the skeg on your TM though.

Pflueger Patriarch
If you're trying to decide between Carrot Stix or St. Croix, then it's St. Croix by a landslide. I'd be looking at the Avid series. Since you're going to be after trout and bass in a small stream, I'd keep it pretty short and light. Personally, I'd probably go with a 6' L/F.

Huge Smallie -- Not Really a Fishing Report
A raccoon or crow could have easily drug the fish up the bank and been about to eat it when someone spooked it off. I used to fish a public pond by my house that had a bunch of dinks and one pond matriarch that I'd caught a couple times that had a distinct scar on her back. It was mostly catfishermen and bucket fishermen that frequented the pond, got a lot of sideways glances when I'd show up fishing for bass. One day I noticed a lot of flies buzzing around the trash. That big bass was in the trashcan with a stick jammed through her gills on one side and out the other. Didn't fillet it, just killed it to kill something I guess. I haven't been back there since.

Dogs and spooling rods/reels- warning Graphic
Nothing pulls drag quite like a scared dog. Doesn't sound like there was any hooks involved, so that's a good thing.

Cheaper Fluorocarbon
Seaguar Red Label is the best value fluoro I've tried, and I've tried a lot of them.

Upgrading my Spinning reel
I have several Presidents and like them more than I liked my Supreme MGX's. If you can find a cheap Supreme XT, it's worth the extra for sure. Love my Pfluegars, but I wandered a bit this winter with my commitment to trying to learn how to dropshot. I bought and Okuma RTX 25 and have been loving it so far. I got it for about the same price as the President LE, and unfortunately I've watched @gardnerjigman have issues with his LE. I'd have a hard time not getting another Okuma for the same price if I needed another reel.

Table Rock Advice
Do you know what part of the lake you'll be on? June can be tough but if the mild weather we've been having holds on for a little bit longer, you should be in for some pretty good fishing.

Fishing small lake after being stocked
Generally they'll stock them with fingerlings because of the cost of adult fish. They'll also stock some brooder fish, adult fish that have reached reproductive maturity that will continue to spawn over the next few years while the other fish mature so there isn't a huge gap in year classes. When they do that around here the lake is often closed for about 5 years to allow the fish to mature and to prevent anyone from keeping those brooders. Then when the lake reopens it's nuts for the first year with all those dumb fish in the lake.

What time
I also work midnights. I sleep 10AM-6PM, or try to anyways if I'm not busy doing stuff. I can sleep through anything most days, but every once in awhile the neighbors mower or a car alarm will get me. I'd be willing to take that bet. Not that I don't like having a drink once in awhile, but the time I can do it never jives with anyone else's, and drinking alone just feels sad.

Animal digging hole around pond?
I don't see any pictures, so that only leaves any kind of animal that digs a hole as an option.

Swimbait Questions
I've always had great hookup ratios with them and poor ratio with the top hook.

Swimbait Questions
I like the versatility of the weedless better. I can fish it very slowly through the thick stuff and not really have to worry.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I get it, especially since they obviously care so little about the fishing in the lakes (except for a month during trout season). I pay more to fish the Bun for a single day though.

expensive jigs
Cheaper jigs often use bronze hooks that will rust badly if you leave a trailer with salt on them or if they don't dry all the way. The hooks are more likely to roll and the skirts seem to gum up and the bands break easier. Jig life expectancy isn't long in a lot of cases, so those things might not be a big issue. I tie my own on a black nickel plated, conical (harder to roll than a needle point), point hook. The skirts are wire tied to keep them from slipping and to eliminate the issue of skirts rotting off the bait.I get my lead for free and have accumulated the tools for pouring over a decades time, so now a completed jig cost me less than $1 apiece even with a high quality hook. There's nothing that compares to that. It's a lot like using a Wal Mart spinnerbait or a dump bin crankbait, there's nothing wrong with it, and they will certainly catch fish, it's more a matter of personal preference.

Chatterbait, Spinnerbait, etc. Rod and Reel?
I don't buy the glass for bladed jigs thing either. They're one of my favorite baits, and the fish have no problems eating them so deeply that I can't see anything but the blade sticking out of their mouths. I've tried the glass/composite rods, felt like I missed way more strikes that way.

Didn't they use to have it so you could remove your prop if your motor was over the HP restrictions? I don't understand why they can't just keep it so it's no wake for boats above the HP restriction. They have to realize they're losing out on a lot of money because of it.

How to Keep Fish Alive
GJM loves him a good snake encounter, the closer they get, the better! Works out well since catching snakes is a specialty of mine and I'm always good at pointing them out when they're hanging out along the bank.
