  1. I use ST 36 #4 on a Super Spook JR. I switched to VMC Spark Point #2 on my 130 WP and they've worked great so far.
  2. I walked through a seed tick nest setting out a trail camera a couple years ago. Kept feeling like I had something crawling on me but couldn't see anything. Finally got a flashlight out and there were hundreds of ticks crawling on my legs that were the size of a pin head. I probably scrubbed the first couple layers of skin off in the shower when I got home. Then I went through my truck with a flashlight and found several crawling on my seat and floor. Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it. Ticks are pretty much the reason that I don't mushroom hunt too.
  3. I don't even remember, first cast of the year was back on January 8th.
  4. @Advantage does really well with the 50 size Hippy Rat (Morning Dawn). I've caught fish with a straight retrieve but it seems like they really like it if you walk it.
  5. Average runs about 8-13 inches (maybe up to 15 depending on the river). Top end size for most is 19-20 inches, anything over that is a mythical creature. A couple of the bigger rivers do kick out some fish over 5 on occasion though, but they're much tougher fishing and slower moving rivers.
  6. Got a steal at Academy, Quantum KVD 7' MH cranking rod for $29.98 Bought myself and @gardnerjigman one and they still had a couple more left.
  7. There should be an edit option below your type in each post. Not sure if it's the same on a phone if that's how you're doing it but that's where it is on a PC for me. Once they're archived you can't edit them.
  8. I've had both and prefer the 45". I have a bad habit of smacking the trolling motor with my rod if it's very high out of the water.
  9. There was a lake here that tried to stock them but they all died because of the cold. For the year they were in there, I caught 2 big ones on tiny crappie jigs.
  10. I wasn't fishing for them, but man did I catch a couple this weekend!
  11. War Eagle makes pretty much any spinnerbait I'll ever need.
  12. I liked Nanofil and never had the fraying/breakage issues everyone seems to have, maybe I got lucky. That said, I like Gliss way more than I liked Nanofil and it seems to be fairly similar.
  13. I have a Curado and Scorpion in the 70 sizes. I like them both very much and they fit my hands about perfectly. Just landed one of the biggest fish I've ever caught with the Curado 70 XG Friday, along with a bunch of "normal" sized fish, so I've put it through some paces. I'm thinking if I can boat this guy with one, it'll handle any bass you come across.
  14. Don't know what the bass prefer, but I prefer rock.
  15. Yes, I've never met a person who was happy with theirs.
  16. Most every pond and lake in the state of Kansas have both and they coexist fine. They'll eat each over occasionally, but not enough that it's a problem.
  17. That bad thing is, it wasn't even close to the biggest one I caught this weekend.
  18. I wish I liked to eat fish, but other than some fresh saltwater fish, I'm out. I've tried fish cooked every which way, just doesn't do it for me and bass is right there with trout as some of the nastiest fish I've tried. Some lakes near me that need some people to keep a ton of fish out of them, but it isn't going to be me unless I find someone who wants them.
  19. I use a 6' 2" M/XF and a 6' 8" M/F.
  20. Welcome!
