  1. Frogs, flipping vegetation, jigs from 3/4oz and up, small swimbaits.
  2. Welcome to the forum! Lots of guys from the KC area on here, myself included. Check out the KC area thread if you haven't already, lots of good reports in there. There is also a pretty good, thread just on Wyco lake too.
  3. Thanks, yes it is.
  4. The two biggest wipers from last week came home with me so Ryan and his wife could have some fresh fish. Lake seemed to approve of them too
  5. Keep forgetting to add this part for the folks that don't want to watch the video. I kept the 2 biggest so a buddy could have a fish dinner and to help thin out the herd of those eating machines from that little lake. Lake was very interested in them, which is exciting
  6. I know my number of "friends" went way up when I bought a boat, some of them that I'd be around for years and hardly spoken to until I bought it. Now maybe they never knew I fished until then (highly unlikely), but possible. That's what it sounds to me like the OP's situation is, someone being his "friend" just to get to fish out of his boat.
  7. You're not very familiar with Photoshop are you?
  8. That's probably the most important part. When they're shallow, it's typically because they're feeding aggressively or actively looking for a meal. I had one night this summer that I caught over 30 channel cats in the 1-8 pound range on spinnerbaits and bladed jigs and missed several more fishing right against the bank. The shad and craws were very active that night and it appears they were taking full advantage of it.
  9. Lucky Craft Staysee or Pointer XD, Duo 100DR, Megabass or KO 110+1, or the Spro McRip 85 which has been my best deep running jerkbait the last couple years. If the water is clear and they're aggressive the bass will move a long ways to hit your bait so you don't always have to get it all the way down to them.
  10. Congrats! Enjoy it while it last because it flies by. Seems like we just brought our son home but he'll be 2 in 2 weeks.
  11. Most of my single day trips run around $50 out of pocket for me in fuel and oil. Compare that to what it cost to hire a guide for a day and forking over gas money to cover everything to your buddy is pretty dang cheap, provided they know what they're doing anyways.
  12. I had a swimming fluke and swimming fluke jr.
  13. The bass were a little slow going but I got on the wipers hot and heavy for awhile. Love catching those hard fighters in the fall/winter.
  14. We weren't the only ones stuffing our faces this Thanksgiving!
  15. The 300 is 10.5oz, maybe you saw that one.
  16. Did they stop making variable speed on the Maxxum? All but one of the Maxxums I've owned were variable speed, including the one I have now. I know after owning a 5 speed, I'll never make that mistake again.
  17. Those rusted hooks are the exact reason I don't use inline spinners with dressed trebles anymore. The hair that most use holds water forever and really accelerates the hooks rusting, especially since most have cheap, bronze hooks.
  18. Still catching them on squarebills in KS with water temps in the high 40's.
  19. 10-20 pound braid with a fluoro leader.
  20. McDonalds killed the dollar menu anyways.
  21. I like the R bend because I can tie them on faster but really don't care either way, I prefer the one that's getting bit.
  22. Not very often I'm not thinking about fishing. Thanks to 2 power plant lakes within a reasonable drive for a day trip, I fish all winter long.
  23. KVD 1.5 Luck E Strike Series 3 H2O CRS LC 1.5 or 2.0 KVD 1.0
  24. Suspending jerkbaits, traps (I like the one knocker types in colder water), bladed jigs, squarebills, spinnerbait with tandem Colorado/Indiana blades.
