For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
I use the North ramp as well but have never had an issue.

I have the bone and it does very well in clear water.

Anyone want to fish Perry with me tomorrow?

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Melvern was good again yesterday. Tony and I had 3 keepers between us with my 3lb 8oz smallmouth being the biggest, and it definitely wasn't on a Bull Shad! I had all 3 flavors of bass in the first 45 minutes. We caught more big white bass than I care to think about, had a couple monster drum, and 1 short walleye. Some kind of swimbait, a tube, a squarebill, and a trap were best.

It keeps most of the dust out of mine, just sucks for the uncovered parts, especially after the boats wet.

I leave the cover on the boat just for dirt road lakes.

It's true because if you worry about losing it you won't fish it right or at all. It's not a magic bullet either, just an effective, fun bait to fish.

St. Croix Customer Service
Waiting by the door for me tonight.

St. Croix Customer Service
I haven't got it back yet but I talked to them 2 days ago and said it would be shipped out this week. Last time when I sent a rod that I broke that was my fault, it took less than 2 weeks.

I swing most of my BS and other swimbait fish and any others I think that I can get away with. I hate untangling treble hooks from the nets.

What Poundage Of Largemouth Bass Fights The Hardest?
Having only caught a handful, I'm obviously nowhere near an expert on them but the peacocks I caught weren't particularly long fights, but very intense fights while they lasted. Smallmouth outpull largemouth any day of the week.

Calling All Reel Experts
I had the same issue with a Shimano Cardiff. Once I disassembled it again and held the button up like the spool was engaged it worked like it was suppose to again.

For Us KC Area Guys - Fishing Reports
Gardner has been good the last 2 mornings. Only gone out there because I wanted to try out the new kayak, the added good fishing is a nice bonus though. I launched in the creek at the south end yesterday morning and caught 15-20 in 1.5 hours, all on a Code Blue BHW or Zman Palmetto Bug.

Buying A Kayak
I think I'm really going to like this kayak bassin' stuff Fished for 1.5 hours after work yesterday morning and caught 15-20 all on a homemade bladed jig or Zman Palmetto Bug.

Bill Lewis Echo 1.75
I have a couple and really like the action and the loud rattle. I have high hopes for them, but this year has been terrible for cranks of any kind so I haven't got to test them very much. I do know that the drum like them.

Non Boater Etiquette
I got 11 dollars once. The guy met me at the lake so he justified it to himself that he didn't ride with me and had to drive himself so he didn't owe me anything and was really doing me a favor by giving me any money. Not real sure how he was going to get my boat to the lake without me and my truck pulling it

Any Turkey Hunters Here
It's right by my parents house by the Kansas Speedway. This is a pretty typical trail camera picture of one of the big flocks of hens, and you're right there's some monster gobblers, big ol' beard draggers. I had one go full blown Matrix on my arrow last year. I usually go head shot or nothing otherwise it destroys to much of the bird with a Rage broadhead. I had that sucker dead to rights before he did his little nervous twitch while my arrow was on the way into his dome. Would have been by far my biggest gobbler.

Heavy Mainline Light Leader
No, in fact I find it very difficult to tie a good connecting knot if my main line is much thicker than my leader line.

Spinner Bait On A Jig Rod
I use a 7' 2" MH/F Shimano Sellus for my spinnerbait rod and it works perfectly. My old jig rod was a Mojo "spinnerbait" rod.

Thanks Bass Resource
Chatterbaits and bladed jigs are one of my biggest confidence baits. That Palmetto Bug is one I never hear about getting any attention but it's a great bait. I love that it floats up once it hits the bottom. I really like it during the winter and cold water months on a swinging football head because of that subtle action while it's just sitting on the bottom. Same thing for the warmer months when I'm having to deadstick my bait to get bit. That little bit of extra action really seems to help me get bit.

Does Mosquito Repellant Scare Bass?
That's interesting that you found it didn't have any effect. I've never heard of oil, gas, or sunblock repelling fish so I've never put any stock into those ones. Seems like fish in a test lab would be way less wary than a wild fish so I'd assume that wild bass would be even less likely to strike a bait with DEET on it. Either way, it's nasty stuff that isn't good for you so I avoid using it if at all possible.

New Personal Best! Spot On The Frog!
That 3lb mark is a tough one to reach for spots. Never caught one on a frog but with the way they blast a spook I'm sure it was an explosion!

New Jigs Arrived
Mike's jigs are works of art, almost too pretty to fish with. I have no idea how he makes any money making jigs that nice and selling them for the prices he does. I can't see any reason why someone would buy jigs from anywhere else. Same with his tungsten weights. I don't need any right now but after I saw the prices I know where I'll be getting mine from now on.

Is Punching Lilly Pads A Technique
Not all pads are the big pads everyone thinks of when they think of fishing pads. You get into thick silver dollar pads that are matted up with other weeds and you are most certainly punching. I hate fishing pads though and they are avoided at all cost.

How To Get To The Stripers
It happens all the time, possibly because spellcheck doesn't recognize stripers as a word. It usually goes something like; "What's the best bait to use for strippers?" "I've heard dollar bills work well". I've never ran into stripers in a pond but wipers on occasion. They're very tough to catch in a pond setting. My best luck has been on jerkbaits, traps, but most of all livebait or livers.
