Greatest Lure Of All Time
Jigs were one of the first lures made and they still catch loads of fish to this day.

Buzzbaits
Cavitron 3/8oz black skirt with a black blade, no trailer or trailer hook. Fish it on a MH rod 6' 6" to 7' with a higher speed reel and 15lb copoly line and you'll be good to go. Just fish them slowly around shallow cover. Watch this video and read the article for further directions. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-videos/how-to-buzzbait.html

What Fish Family Does This Sound Like
There's no northern pike, muskie, or pickerel in Beaver Lake. There's only 3 things I can think they would be and that's stripers, catfish, or gar. It's pretty common for stripers to rush schools of shad, they're long, thick, and can be really large, but they're like black bass and tend to swallow the entire fish head first. Catfish will also rush schools of baitfish, match the description of the fish, but aren't a fish that tends to leave any morsel behind. Gar can be long and pretty thick, they have the tools to decapitate a fish, but they're more slow, stalking predators, not rush in and attack type fish. Walleye would be another potential option but, even with their teeth, they tend to swallow fish head first and whole. If I was to guess, I'd say you're seeing stripers, but I have no explanation for why you're seeing shad heads. Best suggestion I have is to either throw net some shad, or buy large shiners/goldfish/minnows and try to freeline them in the area you're seeing the shad get chased if the fish won't eat an artificial.

Bps Stik O Worms 7 1/4"
I pour a swinging football head with a 7/0 VMC just for fishing the big BPS Stick O. I catch lots of little ones along with big ones on them though.

Is there a question in there or just thinking out loud?

Have You Ever Caught A Grass Carp On An Artificial Lure??
That carp I caught that I posted a picture of in that thread I got to watch eat my bait, no mistaking that it was attacking the bait.

Multi Color Jig Powder Paint?
For stuff like that jig you could use an airbrush with powder paint. Heat and dip in your main color, then hit it with the spray guy real quick on the side you want the addition paint. For the punch sinkers, the way I've done it is to use a paintbrush. You paint your main color, then dip a paintbrush in your powder and just shake or flick it over the top of what you're painting before it cools.

Does This Make You Mad?
I'm okay with people keeping what they're going to eat. It's the "I need to fill the freezer", crowd that bugs me. I don't think many people around here realize that the possession limit is only twice the daily creel limit. I just wonder how much of that fish that goes into the freezer ever actually gets used.

North Arkansas Largemouth
Man, I'll trade you all kinds of good bank fishing for largemouth around here to have some of those river smallies down around that area. Big lakes like Bull Shoals are tough enough from a boat, almost impossible from the bank. Doesn't seem to be a lot of water down there other than the big lakes and small rivers either. Might be time to start looking at a kayak or maybe put a post out to see if anyone would be willing to take you out in their boat. Lots of guys willing to have someone else in the boat if they'll help with gas, loading and unloading.

Technique: Ripping Lure From Grass To Get A Reaction Strike
Along with a trap, I like to rip a squarebill or tick a bladed jig above the grass. A hollow belly swimbait can be good too.

Ever Caught Two Bass At Once?
Had about 8 pounds of smallmouth on the same bait for a few seconds last Friday before the bigger fish pulled off (of course). The smaller fish hit my swimbait first before the bigger fish tried to steal it and got itself hooked just long enough to make me think I might get them both.

Flipping/pitching/punching Rod (Under $150)
I have the 7' 11" XHF "Matt Daddy", it's a heck of a rod for the money. It's very powerful but still lightweight and sensitive. Strong enough to rip weeds out by the roots so you can drag them and a good fish in

Crazy Techniques
I've used pieces of foam on a jighead to catch bluegill. I remember reading an article a long time ago about guys trolling a Batman action figure and catching lake trout.

I Called In Sick But My Boss Didn't Believe Me...
She was probably having a bad day and took it out on you. It sucks, but it happens. Nothing you can do but show up to work and do you job like you're suppose to and show her that you're a good worker.
