  1. Nope, I fish what I feel like I should be using at that time.
  2. Sucks about the hook in the arm but at least you got some fish. My first trip ever to Melvern I caught 1 8" smallmouth so you did better than me. No wipers in Melvern though, just huge white bass.
  3. Tried it, they were much more interested in a squarebill. What setup are you fishing it on? I was using 5lb Maxima on a 7' 3" ML/F with just a steady retrieve. Caught a few but nothing outstanding.
  4. Keitech Swing Impact on a jighead. Count it down and use a slow, steady retrieve.
  5. Illegal here in KS, supposed to dump them on the bank. If they don't get eaten right away they'll probably take hold though.
  6. 6' 6" MH/F-6:4.1 reel-15lb Big Game Trailer all the time-whatever you like, I use plastic Trailer hook-never A majority of the time it's a very slow, steady retrieve.
  7. Booyah or Spro. The H2O frogs aren't bad either.
  8. A 6XD on a ML rod? No thanks. I'm sure it can cast it, but cranking it back would probably be a serious chore.
  9. Can't grow mine because of work. We can have mustaches, but I'm not growing the Farva.
  10. H2O or Strike King for shallow running needs. The Baby -1 is a good one too but I consider it more of a topwater/wakebait since it's so close to the surface.
  11. Welcome!
  12. Shimano Sellus, Berkey Lightning Rod Shock, Academy Ethos to name a few.
  13. The only way I could actually get one to back up was with a very small hook and very light line, otherwise the either sink straight down or glide slightly forward.
  14. There's better bargain priced rods out there for sure.
  15. Save your time and headache and use a sharpie. You'll have to color them again once in awhile but it kills the flash without altering the blades like you risk doing if you paint them. I tried dipping some and it does work if done correctly but if you get the blade too hot it will bubble the paint and it's easy to get two different thicknesses on different parts of the blade which messes with the action. That's why I bought a powder paint air gun so I could paint my blades evenly.
  16. X2, one of the best soft swimmers you can get for under $10. Lots of colors and sizes and pretty durable too.
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. I buy mine online and print copies. I've got one in my wallet, one in the truck, one in the boat, and one in my bank fishing bag.
  19. I saw Sevendust, Stoned Sour, Chevelle, and Disturbed at Twisted Christmas one year, that was pretty awesome. Metallica and Godsmack I got to meet Brad Paisley when I was working at Cabela's (he's an avid bass fisherman and was shopping before his concert). He was looking for some stuff, I helped him out and he gave me 2 tickets to his show that night. Turned out they were dead center, 4 rows back. It was a pretty cool experience.
  20. That 7' 1" plastics rods is the best finesse jig rod I've ever owned, just fantastic.
