If you cut the heads off and make sure to deflate the swim bladder and toss it back the blues and channels in the lake will handle the rest.

One of my favorite things I ever heard a bass pro say was Denny Brauer. He's always been one of my favorites, but I got to meet him in person when I worked at Cabela's. I've heard some say he isn't the nicest guy, but I was only 16 at the time and he sat there and patiently listen to me rattling on and answered all the questions I had and was the nicest guy the whole time. At one point I asked how he goes about getting big fish out of the nasty cover he likes to fish so much and he told me "I just worry about getting them on, then I worry about getting them out". It made so much sense to me then and still does. I feel like I catch more and bigger fish to this day because I'll put a bait where other guys won't because they either think they can't get a fish back out of that spot, or it's just too much of a hassle to them.

It's illegal to release a caught invasive in KS. I like to dispose of silver carp by cutting them into the right size chunks, putting them on a hook, and trying to feed them to a big blue cat.

Daiichi, super sharp, but not terribly strong. They're great on their other baits, but on the Swavers where you tend to use heavier gear, they might not cut it. I change the hooks out on most of the baits I buy except for Spro and R2S.

I have not. I know they're popular as a trailer, but nowhere around here carries them. I tried them as a T rig bait and they were awful for me so I got rid of them before I thought to try them. I'm going to have to remember to add a couple packs to my next order so I can give them a try.

Bladed jigs kill them here. I caught nearly 3 dozen channels night fishing with my black and blue bladed jigs last Thursday, up to 10 pounds. Missed another dozen to 15 of them, they about jerk the rod out of your hands when they hit.

Of the baits listed, the Project Z hands down. I'm partial to black and blue but I carry about 2 dozen different colors of my own bait so I'd have a heck of a time narrowing it down to one color. Gun to my head, I'd go green pumpkin I guess.

Fillet them at the lake and toss the rest back in the lake (not on the ramp, under the dock, or on the bank). The craws, turtles, catfish, and everything else will take care of them quickly usually.

Agreed. I have 3 H2O Mettles, most I paid for any of them is $40. I've had one for going on 4 years that gets used a ton and just keeps on trucking. I haven't cleaned it, oiled or greased anything. I paid $29 for it, I didn't expect it to last long enough to need cleaned

I wonder how many of the people screaming about this lion have any idea how many animals are killed in miles long snare lions by poachers in Africa each year? None of them are lining up to go help those animals. I guess it's like so many of the Hollywood stars here where you get special treatment just because you're well known? I'm with AdamsEye though, so many other issues in this world and a lion is what people choose to get worked up about? Really? What about all the kids dying of starvation and disease in Africa because of simple things like not having clean water to drink? Or our vets that come home after serving their country and then need their countries help, only to get snubbed on the benefits they were promised. So many things that they should be upset about but instead it's a lion that they'll forget about as soon as the media quits running stories about it

All of the fish I listed were on lures. The catfish were mostly on my homemade bladed jigs.

Sounds like it has magnetic brakes as well. I would dial it back to around 5 or 6 for now. Can you cast it at all or is the spool not disengaging at all? If the line is dug in like was suggested, all you need to do is pull line out of the reel until you get past that point, then you should be good to go. Sometimes this happens when pressure is applied to the line (hooksets/snags).

1. I like to use a very slow, stead retrieve, often times it will bump the bottom even. I will fish it faster to run it over grass or along dock edges, sometimes I'll stroke it off the bottom, I'll use an erratic stop and go, jerk and snap retrieve, but most of the time slow and steady wins the race. 2. I use a trailer 100% of the time, trailer hook 0% of the time. There isn't much I haven't tried for a trailer and my favorites change occasionally. Right now I'm big on; Pit boss or Rage Menace rigged sideways, Zman Diesel MinnowZ, Zman Turbo CrawZ rigged sideways, or a YUM swimming Dinger. 3. Nope
