  1. They've made Nanofil in low vis green for awhile now. I like Nanofil, but for me it's an open water, off the bottom presentation line ONLY. It's very technique specific but what it does well it does so much better than any other line. Have not tried the line you're asking about OP, but all the Sufix braids I've tried have been good so I'd expect it to be as well.
  2. Congrats on the new PB! How long was it? Did you get any pictures to share?
  3. I'd guess probably around 10 pounds but depends on the lake.
  4. Finally got all the clips uploaded an put together from our trip to Pleasanton last Monday. Going to use them as an example for all the guys on the boards the complain about it being SOOOO hard to fish when the wind gets up to 15mph We had whitecaps on Pleasanton West, which is like 30 acres. I don't think it was ever below 25mph except when we were protected in the coves at East Lake. There were a lot more fish caught at West but they were coming in the boat so fast that I kept forgetting to restart the camera
  5. The terrible picture of my biggest nighttime smallie and the jig she ate right next a dock in about 2' of water on the 4th of July last year.
  6. I gave up football after one season once I was old enough to drive, cut into my fishing and deer hunting time way too much.
  7. Those look terrific! I wish I had the hand for tying bucktails, I think some tiny craw imitators would be killers on the smallmouth in a couple of our lakes.
  8. The XR50 and XRK50 have both been reintroduced, unfortunately it does not look like the Rayburn Red is being made anymore though. No sign of the Zell Pops yet, which was also one of my favorites.
  9. I have 2 packs of them but only used them once and the fish weren't interesting in a wacky rig that day. It made the worm sink like it's supposed to so I guess it works right.
  10. Most of the rods and reels I own are rigged and ready in my rod locker. Not sure I can remember them all but I'll give it a shot. Might be missing one or two here, and there's several more in the garage rigged for bank fishing excursions, but that's the majority that are rigged and ready for action in the boat.
  11. I prefer 50# and would use leader for the plastics and jigs but not the moving baits and frogs.
  12. Get a digital table scale from the grocery store used for measuring food portions. I have one that my wife bought for it's intended purpose but I've used it more for weighing baits.
  13. Oh man don't remind me! At least I got turned to the side for that one, getting hooked in the chest sounds so much worse than getting hooked in the side! My main concern here was having sunfish spines buried into the top of my foot at 100mph though!
  14. I use braid with a short leader, maybe 2 or 3 feet. I never thought I'd like fishing a shakyhead with braid but now I'd never go back.
  15. We don't have any weeds thick enough to warrant a 1oz weight and my wife would kill me if she found out I spent $10 on a sinker. Most of the vegetation I fish a 3/8 or 1/2oz is plenty.
  16. The rare chance I get to target smallies at night has proven that they will certainly bite at night but tend to be much shallower than they normally are during the daytime.
  17. It appeared like someone had but the fish had managed to survive. Crappies are king on the lake we were on, and it seems that some of the locals don't appreciate the resource they have in these muskie. They want to blame them for why they can't catch many bigger crappie when in reality it's probably because they keep every bigger crappie they catch so they never have a chance to get big.
  18. Depth doesn't dictate the weight you use when punching weeds, the thickness of the vegetation should be the deciding factor. I use 3/8oz a lot but our weeds aren't very thick (water willows mostly), but if I do get into some heavy milfoil or other weeds I'll go up to 3/4oz even in a foot or two of water.
  19. The other issue you have with larger shot, like buckshot, it's going to blow through walls as well. Unlike a handgun where you only have a single projectile, you have several and can't control where every one is going to go. I've seen the tragic end results of someone who tried to defend their home only to find out they'd shot a loved one or family pet in another room as well as the intruder. Birdshot hits a wall and it stops. For the pure purpose of home defense inside the home, a shotgun with birdshot is one of your best options. The round you're talking about being shot from a pistol is for very small animals at very close range.
  20. They have the pumpkin/purple/red color in the Pit Boss, basically PB&J.
  21. Here's the full video from Gardner last Tuesday, not completely in order but they're all there. Still working on the Adventures of Chris and Clayton go to Pleasanton from last Monday, but I do have one of the better clips uploaded.
