  1. Not fishing the Zman one are you? I never could hook a fish with that junk hook either.
  2. I like the pink bait. I think a pink belly, purple back, chartreuse stripe would be a good looking bait.
  3. It wouldn't be spring if I didn't have a craw colored wiggle wart tied on.
  4. I really wish they'd make a bigger version of those baits. I was excited to get mine when I bought some, then disappointed by the little baits I got. I've caught fish on them, but I was hoping for bigger baits when I ordered them.
  5. Anyone ever taken a fishing vacation to go to Kansas??? We have blistering hot summers, sub zero temps in winter, a full days drive from the closest ocean, very limited fish species to pursue, limited bodies of water to fish and almost all the good ones are heavily pressured, and the state couldn't care less about bass anglers. We may not be the worse, but KS has to be close. Best I would probably go with Texas. Lots of huge lakes along with smaller bodies of water, all capable of producing monster bass. It gets hot but it never gets really cold so I'll take that trade off. Tons of saltwater fishing opportunities, not to mention lakes with great crappie, stripers, catfish, and monster alligator gar.
  6. Right, if you're complaining because it's cold out when it's in the 50's, I don't want to hear about it. Suspending jerkbaits are about all I use in ponds during the winter time. Soft twitches and long pauses are the name of the game.
  7. I've fished everything from the Trions to the Supreme XT with the only exceptions being the Purist and Arbor. I've had a couple problems with the Supreme XT and Supreme MGX but every time I've had a problem I've been taken great care of. Now I have a hard time coming up with a reason to spend the money to buy anything over the President, that's about as bulletproof as a spinning reel as I've ever owned.
  8. I use the same LTB with a Pfluegar Supreme XT 25 size with 10lb Super Slick and a 10 or 8 pound fluoro leader. I fish the 3/32oz head 95% of the time. I'm sure it comes as a real shocker that I caught a lot of my fish on a bladed jig last year
  9. I still have my silver dollars and half dollars my grandpa gave me when I was little. Planning on giving them to my son when he gets a little older.
  10. Super Spook Jr in bone color or a Zell Pop XZ2. I have one Zell Pop that just has "it" that has caught me hundreds if not thousands of fish.
  11. I use 10-15 pound depending on how heavy of cover I'm fishing around. Despite your clear water, you're still fishing a moving bait where they shouldn't get a very good look at your line.
  12. Disco violet, Arkansas shiner, and albino are my favorites.
  13. Either this jig bite, Or this A rig bite.
  14. I like the smaller size Luck E Strike, I'm sure the Megabass will be good too. The Luck E Strike version is really light, almost a spinning rod bait.
  15. I don't like banging around in the boat or rocking the boat any more than I have to.
  16. Nope, she was 8.01 the first time I put her on the scale, then 7.76 when I put her on the scale to take a picture. I caught one in January that same year that was 24.5" long from the warm water, but she was only 14" around and still went 7.51. I don't really agree with the private body of water records but then again if I had a pit and caught a 12 out of it I'd probably feel differently
  17. I'm already off the bank, but the idea of not having to charge a battery, fill a gas tank, worry about if my trolling motor is going to work or if my motor is going to start. Plus I have several bodies of water I fish from the bank that you can't launch a boat unless it's a carry in style boat, so it would be great for that. One of my biggest issues is going to be my dog. Can't go fishing without her without getting a guilt trip when I get home and risking her freaking out and eating the house. Don't really want to go with a tandem but I don't know where else you put 60 pounds of dog in a kayak?
  18. Sounds like a nice, relaxing day on the water
  19. You might try calling a store and seeing if they have any in stock in any of the stores. There was at least 2 in one of the stores by me that were the 7' 6" H/F as of last week, both for $45 apiece. I'm guessing they'd ship to a different store for pickup for no charge like BPS or Cabela's does. FWIW, they didn't have any H/F Ethos listed on their website when I bought mine early this year either.
  20. He's just over 4 miles from my house in that video
  21. To help put it in perspective, our state record is only 11.88 pounds and was caught several years ago out of a private strip pit. The fish before that was 11.75 pounds and that record stood for almost 40 years! Our bass just don't get very big here. I'm still looking for one over 8 in KS!
  22. Really gotten interested in buying a fishing kayak. If I can ever scrape up the money I'll be looking seriously at getting one I think.
  23. BG is .012 inches in 10lb test Senshi is .010 inches in 10lb so it's a little thicker, whether that's an issue or not is up for you to determine. It's not for me, but our lakes are mostly shallow and dirty so a thicker line isn't an issue and can actually be a plus.
  24. I tie back to back uni's and haven't had any issues.
