Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
Ha ha, yeah... i've done leaders before. What knot do you guys tie for braid to fluoro? I don't remember which knot it was, but i didn't have much luck with it. It was one of the recommended knots too. I lost way too many on the hook set only to find the knot at my leader didn't do its job.

Help Needed
Wow...i think you should start with "I need some help catching fish on the Potomac River." What you're asking for is something that could take many, many years to figure out on ANY body of water .

What kind of tennis shoes do you wear?
Ha ha, that's funny.

The kind of bait I would purchase only because the way it looks
Looks like it belongs hanging from a rear-view mirror as decoration, not to be actually fished with! Pretty cool looking.

Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
I've always jig fished with fluoro. I'll try the hybrid, and if i like it throw it on my jig rod too. Braid may be great for sensitivity, but i just can't stop thinking about how visible it is when i use it. I just have more confidence in less visible lines.

baitcating reel question
I can tell you that if you fish with a new reel for a whole season, you may not think it needs to be lubed and oiled. But lube and oil it and you'll notice a difference.

For those of us not throwing a jig/trailer combo
But does your boat have a deck? Try sitting in a boat with regular bench seats with the side of your boat in the way. If you boat has a deck, it would be like sitting on the deck. If you somehow do flip and pitch from a boat without a deck, then more power to you. Pitching accurately is hard enough standing up.

What should I call this color?
I can just imagine the looks on the other fishermen's faces when they over hear one guy yell to his buddy that he's killing them on them bloodfart worms, tubes, whatever.

...Uh, no not usually. I don't fish things like poppers though. Topwater for me is almost always either a buzzbait or something like a frog. I fish a horribly weedy lake, so anything with trebles doesn't work too well.

For those of us not throwing a jig/trailer combo
You can catch a ton of fish simply dragging and bouncing a jig. I broke my trolling motor this year, and for a few days all i was doing was drifting over a rockpile and dragging the jig along. Could do the same with a texas rigged plastic...but a jig can catch more fish without being totally wrecked. I catch noticeably larger fish on a jig than plastics, also.

Sounds like he does it for personal use...good luck.

For those of us not throwing a jig/trailer combo
The only thing i meant by that is that they could be anything. Very versatile lures. I don't know the forage base in arizona, but where i fish a jig on the bottom could look like a crayfish, but it could also look like a baitfish if worked a little faster. Could be anything. If i had to sit here and explain everything a jig COULD be as to not generalize, i'd be here forever.

Lure company seconds???
You can buy plastics from *** called Dents and Dings. 1.39 for a 12 pack of various plastics. 2.78 for 36. I dunno about stuff like crankbaits though.

I understand. Yeah, you should really give them a try. I don't know how it is in arizona, but jigs on the bottom are supposed to look like crayfish. But you can swim it and it'll look like a baitfish.

Paddletail Swimbaits
Yeah, i can see that being a problem with a heavy swimbait. I don't fish heavy swimbaits, so i wouldn't know. Just cheap paddletails. For me, keeping the bait on the hook saves me some baits when they're really hitting.

Jigs are extremely versatile. You can do anything with them. You can swim them along the surface like a wake bait, drag them along the bottom, hop them, whatever you like. Why can't you stand up in your boat? You're really missing out on some nice fish if you can't flip and pitch.

I hate No-Va-Cane
My sister isn't all there in the head, and they had to drug the crap out of her to get her to sit down in that chair and get hers removed. The first time she was there they weren't going to give her the drugs to take an hour before, but she freaked when she got to the office. Second time they gave her the drugs. She ended up falling asleep in the waiting room and had to be carried to the chair.

Advice on Boat buying
Bass Dude's right. I fish a pretty small lake and my 14ft with the 40hp does well as long as i'm going perpendicular to the waves. Either going against them or with them. There's been multiple times where i've driven all the way to the other side of the lake just to turn the boat around so that i don't take one over the side. And fishing can be a real pain in moderately windy conditions if you want to do any casting. But, there's way more days where i have no problem in my little boat than when i do. If it gets too windy, then i leave, and i've never had a big problem with waves. It'll get sketchy, i'll get wet, but it's never overly dangerous.

WOO HOO!!! I'm gettin' a Curado!!!
Ha ha. I'm 18, and i have a twin brother. My brother says to my mom, "So for christmas..." and my dad interrupts, "What the fk do you think this is? You're old enough for me to kick you out. How long do you expect christmas presents for!?" I had a laugh. I don't mind it. I hate accepting much from them because we're not doing so great money-wise. Got laptops last year, and that's something i really needed for school and saved me a lot of money.

Help me choose a line for my 6'6 xf M Zillion Rods
For top water, i like a longer, stiffer rod. This helps me work the lure and get a solid hook set at the end of a cast. Edit: xf doesn't make it wimpy, but the tip of the rod is pretty soft compared to the rest of the rod. It has backbone, but the tip is soft, so i would have to exaggerate my movement to get the topwater do what i want.

What kinda top waters? I don't like wimpy rods for topwater, and a medium action with an extra fast tip is pretty wimpy.

Pawn Stars on History Channel...
Oh yeah? I kinda like the show.

Hybrid = Wet Noodle?!
Has anybody tried the hybrid "ultra soft" designed for spinning gear? And if so, how does it compare to the normal stuff? It comes in 600 yard spools, and with that much line i'll throw it on a baitcaster too. Just wanna know the difference.
