Well I got my permit on my birthday which was cool. I picked up the 365 and a lcp2 in 22lr. So far love the 365 I’ve got about 500 ends through it for the 2 weeks I’ve had it. Changed the trigger on it already for the flat one that’s comes on the 365xl. Ordered a few different holsters for it so far I like the alien gear one the best I got the alien gear appendix holster. Got a MFT one, versacarry and veder. Not a fan of the veder really the cow hide is to think and stiff I’ve been leaving the gun in it at night to break it in but once I draw from it it collapses and I can’t reholster it with out fingering the holster or digging with the gun which both are a no no.

Later in the season mange seems worse or more common. We usually get a few critters a year that have mange. Usually if we get one that’s mangy we have black construction garbage bags on hand toss em in a bag and dispose of.

Not like it was years ago but still a market just not money making like it was in the past. Coyotes are like $20-90

Kicked off my season the right way called 3 coyotes and 4 fox on 2 stands my first night out and dropped this male at 120yards with the 17hornet. kicked it old school to left the thermal home and ran red lights. Wasn’t the brightest coyote came in down wind while we were talking about not seeing anything in that spot like usual.

I go through phases. I barely fished this season and am kinda pumped for hunting especially duck and coyotes I gave up deer years ago but might get back into it this year. normally I would pick fishing over hunting easily just been in a funk the last two seasons so fishing doesn’t excite me like it used to.

Ditto, well in process of building my second one. I’ve got everything to build the upper and have the lower and old parts from other builds but it’s all stock stuff and I want this one more of a precision build I went with a longer(22”) match barrel for it. The one I already built was just a aero upper and lower with all the parts in boxes I used everything but the trigger which I went cnc drop in.

It’s shotgun only in my area when I used to deer hunt and I loved my 20ga 870 with hornady sst sabots. I gave up deer hunting bout 5 years ago but they legalized rifles in my area a few years ago and I’ve got kids begging me for jerky all the time so I’m gonna get back into this year. Plan on using my 45-70 and 325gr leverevalution or my AR10 in 308

There is “cheap” budget ones for about $1500 but don’t have good reviews a few locals have em and I’m they seem to be nothing but problems with them. Between my scanner and scope both pulsars I’ve got around $6300 between the 2

We pretty much just call at night. Myself and one other buddy have thermal scopes and scan with thermal it’s a game changer over the old light game. Another buddy has my old night vision scope and we just use my scanner or he borrows another buddies thermal scanner. if we don’t see or hear anything in like 30-45 minutes of calling we are back in the warm truck on to a new spot. hide prices are kinda blah it basically covers the price of the season for us. I’ve got buddies up north of us that get 90+ yotes a season and don’t do a ton of travel they are making money but not much on the hides. Fox we’ve been shooting with plans to make a blanket with the hides my one buddy did that reds for the main and gray fox border used coyotes to cover the price to have it tanned and sewn up.

Everyone’s getting excited bout deer in my area but I’m more excited for sleepless nights out calling in coyotes and fox. trying to decide what gun I wanna use early season either my 17hornet or my 20practical. We call in a good number of fox so I like those two calibers for fox and coyote plus half our properties we hunt are in a shotgun only area for deer so if I wanna use a centerfire rifle it’s gotta be smaller than .22 cal if deer seasons open. Once fox closes I run my .243. Ive got a pulsar thermion so it has 5 or 7 profiles to save for which ever gun it’s on and with the Burris pepr QD mount I can swap between guns and it SHOULD go back to zero in selected profile when swapping between guns. I haven’t tried it yet though I started with it on my 20practical swapped to the 243 and haven’t taken it off the 243 yet. anyways any other guys into predator calling

Yeah we were considering it over last winter before buying this house we’re in now. My kids from first marriage are here in NY and I couldn’t pick up and leave as much as I hate this state. Luckily the county I live in is pretty good about pistol permits they have a semi fast turn around once submitted and they give blank coupons so once I’ve got my permit the clerk asks how many I want and she just hands em over. All that does really is let’s me walk out of store with said gun on the spot then I’ve got 10 days to turn in the receipt to have it added to my permit. But yeah NY sucks the big one when it comes to guns mags on the AR have to be pinned or it be “feature less” meaning no pistol grip, flash hider, collapsible stock, etc. basically like Ca. Then there’s the stupid 10rnd mag but can’t fully load it have to stop at 7....yeahhhhh. Anyways gotta stop before getting political but yes NY sucks and I wanna move but not gonna happen till kids are out of school and my youngest starts kindergarten next week so I’m stuck here for a while

We carried the g2c at work and it went on sale last week 219.91 for one but being that it was a .91 ending means they were on clearance not to be stocked again. We haven’t had any hellcats in and with the way things are doubt we will anytime soon. Shields fly off the shelf also except the ez in 45 though a customer was asking for it 2 weeks ago and we didn’t have it and as he was buying the ez 9 the 45 version was being delivered and logged into the system. He might buy it if the boss(wife) let’s him when he comes in to pick up his 9. Way NY works can’t leave with the gun until you have a coupon from the county for it only 1 county near me gives em out blank, the others you gotta buy the gun we’ll all but a dollar get a sales slip then go turn it in and get it added to permit. Once done with that they give you a coupon to come and get the gun.

I wish NY allowed it but they are considered song birds or something so we can’t hunt em.

I’ve got a savage 10 fcp-k in .308 tack driver with factory loads so far. I bought a reloading kit to reload for my AR in 20practical but will also do the .308, 45-70 and 243 while I’m at it. I wanna get a good kid for the 308 since the factory ammo it likes is hard to come by even before all this pandemic panic buying.

We do carry the shield 9 sell quite a few also. I’ll fondle it some more today when I go in in about a hour. There’s another gun shop bout 10-15 minutes down the road from our store that has a indoor range so you can try before you buy. I might run down there when time comes test a few see how I like em then purchase from our store.

I do it myself at home we don’t do repairs at runnings. Was it you who emailed us asking they reached out to me the other day saying a guy did.

Applied for my permit here in my county in NY. Got my class to get my permit scheduled for the 26th of this month then hopefully get the approval and my permit shortly after that. been weighing out what to get my first pistol and leaning heavy on getting the p365. been watching tons of YouTube videos on it but wondering what y’all’s personal experience is with it. some others in considering is the p938, Taurus g2c, Kimber micro 9. not new to guns by any means but pistol wise recent experience is with the beretta m9 from in the army. Other than that growing up my best friends dad was and still is a big HK guy so grew up shooting his USPs I think they were I can’t remember exactly it was 20 years ago but I know they were HK. I work in a shop handling all the ones I’m considering every day I work which is also why I’m looking at them for the employee discount, it’s not much 15% on guns but definitely helps with the purchase

Like j francho said just get the limit and plug away having a limit helps a ton in the NYKBF events. I stepped away this season but in the past just having a limit usually held ya decent in the standings.
