  1. nice whittler how is the barrel fouling though? I'v read that the .17 rem and 17FB have had fouling issues from the amount of powder and such tiny holes they can clog and foul fast requiring constant cleaning like less then 10 shots. Fox and Coyote hunting wouldn't be an issue usually only fire a round or two but if out in the fields cutting down the ground hog population that could become a problem.
  2. That's exactly what I thought of it at first also then i seen it was a havoc bait and I knew I could actually afford it and not feel bad when a pike nabs it.
  3. Just seen this on the bassmaster site looks pretty good anyone seen or tried it in person yet
  4. double fluke rig, jig like always, manns baby -1s and spinners for me
  5. Not a swim bait but I had one chase a spro frog all the way to the canoe. I bombed a fog to the bank never seen the bird till it was flying at the frog so I burned it back it followed all the way to the canoe. My nephew was freaking out with a oar ready to play baseball with the thing. I don't think it ever noticed us till it was right on top of us and my nephew began his back swing to clock the bird about 3ft from the canoe.
  6. I have both the Citica(E) and the Revo S(1st gen) I prefer my Revo but honestly there isn't MUCH difference but the Revo does feel better in my hand
  7. I like 2 local joints for pizza one is called Avanti's they have the best Buffalo chicken pizza hands down with there chicken alfredo pizza in a close second if your ever in Medina or Brockport you gotta check them out. The second place I like a lot is Marks pizzeria little bit bigger chain but secluded to WNY they have a just a simple cheese and pepperoni with sweet sauce that is pretty good I can eat a large by my self usually.
  8. Yeah my hmr is a tack driver on a calm day i can do 5 shots at 200yds and cover the group with a penny. I want one of the center fires for hunting fox and coyotes there would be zero pelt damage there isn't with my hmr but it lacks umph to put a coyote down out past 100 with any certainty. Id love to get a 3rd HMR or even mach2 if I can find an older semi auto one they only made them for a few years it would be perfect for coons.

I thought about building an AR for predator hunting then the guy i go with reminded me how many miles of brush we walk threw and I decided its probably best to keep my guns light weight. Thats why I'm waiting for the new walking hunter to come out in .17 hornet it will be the perfect gun for where I hunt. I personally like hunting these types of animals more then deer hunting yeah deer hunting is fun but coyote and fox are a blast not much compares when you get some hungry coyotes charging in or a sly fox sneaking around looking for a meal.

if that's the gun I'm thinking of isn't it a bit much lol I guess no different then guys using AR's
  11. I'v always been a fan of the All terrain tackle jig line up and always always rage tail for a trailer. Though this year the little fishing I got to do I pretty much threw exclusively a custom jig and of coarse a rage craw for a trailer.

The coyote population on one of the properties I deer hunt is bad really bad to the point you cant leave a deer over night if you make a bad shot you either get it that day or don't get it at all. We had a doe 2 seasons ago come onto our property from the guys next to us bad shot they told us they were gonna come back the next morning and let her sit the night afraid to bump her again. We met up the next morning first light found the doe well what was left of her. I'v called there a few times with a lot of responses but there are so many ditches and the woods are so thick they almost always spot or wind you long before seeing them or if you do see them there to far and in thick cover. I'm gonna try to thin them out when I get back I'm going to a wireless call with a motion decoy hopefully it will be enough to draw them out of the ditches for just a moment to put a round in em.
  13. Anyone else a .17 cal family fan. I love the little round looking to pick up one of the center fire versions I'm hoping for one of the new .17 hornets but it seems savage has been slow with the release of it. Maybe ill go 17 fireball or 17 rem I'm real big on fox and coyote hunting but we get more fox then coyotes so I like the .17s as they are fur friendly on the fox and have enough umphh to anchor a coyote as well. Every .17 I'v shot has been a tack driver as long as the wind isn't terrible.

Any one else on here do any predator hunting fox, Coyote, bobcat, or mountain lion. What do you guys use gun wise, do you call or run hounds. I use either my .243, .17hmr or shotgun with #4 buck. I call and run hounds its gonna be the only thing open hunting wise when I get back state side I cant wait to get out there and have some 'yotes come charging in to call or out in front of the hounds there's nothing like hearing them blue ticks get all wound up on a fox or coyotes trail. Here are a few I got last season. I guess raccoon can be tossed in also.
  15. Not in this d**n country Kuwait blocks half the sites that pops up and internet speed is slow except when I go on here luckily BR seems to be quick unless there's a lot of pics involved. It took me 6 hours to load the above video to see what everyone was talking about... I have only seen bits and pieces of the chucky movies but dolls always creeped me out my mom and sister collect them there not scary looking just creepy like there eyes follow you around the room.
  16. I think them are midgets dressed like Chucky if so I want to find that costume and dress up my son in it for Halloween it would be the best costume ever!! I'd get him to chase who ever showed the slightest bit of fear hahahaha
  17. So what are the best rods if you had unlimited funds like if you had Bill Gates check book what would be the rods to have.
  18. hell no thats why they made 100% deet or thermacell if you don't want your skin to mutate
  19. I wish I could shoot the doves here in Kuwait but I cant theres thousands everyday flying around I wanted a pellet gun or sling shot to shoot some and grill the breast but I cant total bummer. NY doesnt have a "dove" season we have rock dove season which is fancy for pigeon I guess and the typical dove most hunters think of is the morning dove which is protected in NY.
  20. seen this today on theChive made me think of this thread
  21. My brother in law has a Brittney smartest dog ever she has pushed me a few fox and deer un intentionally lol. She follows us out into the woods but stays like 150-200yds back and we always stop by the pond which is where she catches up thinking were bird hunting without her and we have to yell at her to go home in which she takes the short cut threw the neighbors woods always kicking something out.
  22. Yup iv known the .x3, .x7 deal for some time now but so does some one else at the DSG I frequent but it did land me my Citica last year for $45 when I was walking out with my Citica I had noticed a Revo SX no red tag but ended with .97 and it was during there additional 50% off deal to I begged and pleaded with the boss(wife) in the end I walked out with just the Citica
  23. that's my plans as well both the BC and spinning it does look like a sexy combo
