So some of these threads recently got me reminiscing of my youth and how I was always getting in trouble because I would skip class or be out late chasing salmon and trout in the fall and small mouth in the spring and summer. I'v been grounded numerous times for it growing up and its landed me in the dog house as a married man a few times to for missing dinner because the bite picked up when I was told to come home dinner was ready, funny how that works isn't it. So how have you guys gotten in trouble from fishing or even hunting for that matter I'v been in trouble for both fro my mother or wife about equally lol. I hope my boys follow my footsteps id rather have to scold for fishing or hunting to much then god knows what else kids could be doing now a days.

Besides my kids Big bass are about the only thing that will make me smile I remember getting my PB 3 years ago I not only got it on a topwater then seeing it once it got close I made Ike look like a panzy with how much I freaked out and was grinning from ear to ear for days about it lol

yup already doing that as well did the Insanity pure cardio workout today drank a shake let it settle then hit the gym for a quick 45min intense back work out.

Take the chip out if you take it to the dealership or just get good with the tech's its 7 years old now I's the warranty even still good if not chip it up but the 5.4 is known for blowing spark plug threads and killing a cylinder especially with towing. After I left Nissan I worked for a large local shop and the guy was a ford guru so we got a lot of fords in and I put in countless helicoils into heads because it would literly blow the spark plug and threads right out. But when I worked for Nissan We had several chipped and heavily modded 350z's and G35's come in for work and we just looked the other way usually plus we got to test drive these cars and some trucks. On the turbo note nothing beats the sound of blow of valves I'v had several turbo cars a few super charged and the turbos sound the sickest I used to go under over passes in my 300Z and rev the tick out of it just to spool it up and slam the throttle shut to open them valves and hear the VVVVVVPSSSTSSSSST echo of the blow off valve. The only thing i think that compared was when I put timing gears in my 383 that sounded neat.

Haha funny you say that because not only am I known by most my company as the "fishing guy" or "gun guy" my platoon knows I sew pretty good and I'm always getting requests to sew up uniforms or ranks on covers when people get promoted all I charge usually is a Monster rehab or reeses peanut butter cups lol. Oh and if its pants they need sewn I make them wash my laundry to when they wash the pants I'm not sewing dirty pants.

I have a few packs of the gammy heavy cover flipping hooks but don't ever use them they always seemed to get hung up on everything and never stay texposed or skin hooked even when i just left it in the plastic with out coming out id miss fish then get snagged so I rarely use them now.

I run straight braid on my Jig set up I have one set up out of my 4 I always have with me that's dedicated to jigs and jigs only. It's a 7'6" MHF Veritas with a Revo SX spooled with 50# power pro. This set up is in my hands 90% of the time that I'm fishing. I tried straight flouro I didn't like it mainly because of what FC i was using but that's besides the point I now use straight 50# power pro no leader not even when I fish around rocks in gin clear water or thick wood cover. I check my line VERY frequently though rarely do I need to retie but the rocks I fish around arnt really sharp or jagged and when I get a fish I horse em right in so not to get into the nasty stuff. Me personally I like the 7'6" I can flip and pitch pretty far with it as opposed to my 7' and 6'6" rods plus I like having the extra rod length for picking up slack on quick hook sets when the jig is taken on the fall. It is a bit much for light finesse jigs but I make due I may switch to a 7' MHF for my finesse jigs. Braid the main reason I like it is because of sensitivity for one when I'm working the bait on the bottom or in cover I feel much much more but I can see it better then I can see flouro I'v caught more fish seeing my braid start to move when the jigs falling to the left or right instead of down. I had a hard time picking up flouro the braid to me stands out easier for line watching.

Thanks I'll have to re look at some rods, I'm pretty confident with full free spooling all my reels my two Revo S's, Revo SX, and Citica are ran with NO brakes what so ever and the spool tension as loose as it goes without the cap falling off. Rarely do I adjust brakes unless I'm really really struggling with wind or something crazy. I'v actually got a reel well combo that does exactly what I'm asking for a combo to do but its such a POS I must buy a newer higher end set up. I have a Quantum Tenacy AP from dicks its a 6'6"M combo I paid 30 bucks for spooled with 10 trilen XT that set up for some reason will throw a weightless mini fluke a country mile seriously like my Revo's and Citica will throw a "regular" bait but the reel grinds and binds and sticks on the retrieve its such a plastic POS. I'm pretty set on getting a MGX iv read a lot about guys loving them for some light weight stuff even in the wind without issue. Even though I originally listed a MGX and Villain a very light weight set up I'm not worried about weight of the combo if a big round BC did the job id use that weight doesn't bother me in combo's I'm still young I don't get tired chucking heavy combo's and high resistance lures all day like some older folks no offense.

I'v been fishing sense I was 2 my dad would wheel me down by the river with him in the stroller and wed fish I did the same with my oldest boy and will with my youngest too. Bass and pike fishing seems to be in my blood I'v been grounded so many times growing up for skipping school to fish I fished everyday most of my childhood and teenage life and not much has changed not even while deployed iv still found a way to go fishing just not as often. I think I went so much and still do because I just love being out doors and in nature it calms me down nothing else matters once out there just me and the fish or me and a fishing buddy whether it be my best friend growing up Clay, or my wife, nephew, my sons, or father. Even with all the drama and stress marriage brings when me and the wife go fishing its all behind us even she lets it all go. Fishing is just therapy but cheaper well idk that its cheaper but its definitely therapy. Plus I'm convinced one of the spots I fish holds the NYS record LMB so that helps to lol.

I woulda kept the frontier........I'm a Nissan guy after all they did pick off half my college tab and hire me sight unseen right outa tech school. I do like the truck though very sharp nothing looks better on vehicles paint wise then black. I think it needs a Hawgtech sticker on the back though maybe on the center sliding window. Very nice truck indeed

you tube doesn't work on my slow internet connection unless I stay up till midnight when my shift starts at 230am. I'm actually about to go to "fat camp" anyone who doesn't run under 14min on there two mile has to do it every other day its insanity/p90x cardio work outs every other day trying to make us all fast runners..........never gonna happen but its mandatory so that will chew up a good hour or 2 then gym for another hour by then it will be chow time shower then zzzzzzzzz's

last thing on my mind when I was home I do read but then it gets boring so I put the book down iv finished a few while I was here I'm not a big fan of reading though so few books interest me I'v read "lone survivor" that one was really good I finished that twice sense iv been here. IKE's book iv read like 4 times out of bordem lol. Right now I'm working on fly fishing for bass that came with some flies I got off the flea market here. Theres a few others if read sense iv been here all about the wars I cant remember there names though I'v loaned them out.

I was gonna have mine sent but cant get nitro fuel here so then I was gonna order a E-Revo but then they banned batteries from being shopped in the mail to APO/AE addresses.

On crank baits do you use split rings or no or do you change them for the oval ones. I use a dou lock snaps for my cranks. Most of mine I took the rings off some have the oval ones and some still have the round ones. I'm wondering what everyone else school of though it on this.

Which do you use or prefer. I have mostly EWG of some sort and a few packs of offset but mostly use the EWG. I seen in one of Glenn's video's bout hook up ratio being slightly better with the offsets so im wondering what everyone else uses and why.

Ok so I'v been bored which is never good because I start to get crazy idea's so here is my latest. A finesse BC set up I was thinking getting a Revo MGX paired on a Villain 6'9" ML/MF and 10# flouro treated with KVD-LnL. I would use this for stuff like tubes, small weightless plastics, shaky heads things of that nature. I know traditionally these things are thrown on spinning gear but I'm not a big fan of spinning set ups and this would give me a excuse to get my MGX. What are your thoughts anyone else have a finesse BC set up I think the rod might be a little off I think a F or XF action might be better but thats what the villain has to offer I haven't looked at many other rods yet.

What do you guys do when bored? I'm bored off my arse I'v checked all the forums I frequent nothing new I read some of my book got bored with that checked all y other web sites I go to for fun nothing new there I'm so bored! I need to get some bare jig heads and skirt material and start tieing skirts over here something productive the gym only takes up 1-1:30hr. It's only been a few days and I'm having bass fishing withdrawals again.

on a boat you could always drift a bottom bouncer rig with a gulp leech or worm harness. I'm also like ww2farmer most mine come by accident and in summer months a chrome lip less crank seems to be a toothy critter magnet both walleye and pike.
