  1. I don't think fish make bubbles though how would they they don't breath air or have lungs. yes a goldfish will release bubbles when getting flakes from the surface but its just a few so same could be said about a carp but I don't think any fish could make a streak of bubbles like that i mean if fish made bubbles the water would always look like a Jacuzzi from all the bubbles coming up from all the fish.
  2. yup I read that also makes them all that more intriguing to catch now i guess guys in the other platoon have caught a bunch of them out by one of the towers during the night QRF shift along with hedge hogs and seen a few fox. I did some research and found out all kinds of stuff here in Kuwait i had no clue they have grey wolves but there was one shot by a fisherman last December just before we got here. http://www.greenprophet.com/2011/12/kuwaiti-kills-wolf/
  3. bubbles could be the turtle and the swirl is a bass getting spooked booking outa there
  4. We've been here 3 months in Kuwait and haven't seen a single wild animal and finally today after a loud scream and then a squish sound we had our first scorpion. Im kinda mad cuz I love scorpions always have im fascinated by them so much I have a tattoo of one that spans from my shoulder down past my elbow. Well they killed the thing with out hesitation. I woulda tried keeping it as a pet lol or at least escorted it out side and over the wall. Makes ya wonder though how many more are in here this one was found in the middle of our bay we all sleep in it cam from under a guys bunk.
  5. bubbles usually equal turtles by the sounds of it a big one
  6. i just walk in and try to give my wife a kiss but shes learned not to cuz it was always followed by smell my hands as i tried to pin her down to smell my fishy hands. I dont rinse wash or check any thing it either gets left in the car or set in its corner till next outing.
  7. revo s - aluminum frame pro max- carbon frame revo s much better
  8. my Revo sx usually is run with the brakes all the way off and the spool nob loosened up as much as possible to the point where it wont fall off and the spool has slight side to side movement I give it just a bump to keep the spool side movement down. Its about as loose as you can set it I throw jigs and t rigged plastics with it. Some times I flip and pitch some times i bomb a hail marry with it. I also never adjust for different weights I just use my thumb when it hits the water I rarely if ever back lash the only time I do is when I hit some thing like a branch or dock I was trying to go under and missed stopping my lure dead in its tracks and my spool going 100mph lol.
  9. Iv gotten stuck by fish so many times here in Kuwait its not even funny the little scoundrels I nicknamed them ninja fish cuz the zebra bream have a tendency to jump out of the bucket at me and stick me in the hand or wrist with there spines to the point I bleed for a minute and then it stops. Same thing bass and blue gill do back home but these arab salt water fish are very good at it lol. I worried of infection at first but now it happens so often and nothings happened yet I just curse a bit and throw em on a hook feed them to bigger toothier fish as punishment. I say go see a doctor if the pains so bad you cant touch it or its keeping you from doing day to day activities. If its tolerable and just a little tender suck it up. maybe you will be the next KVD with that little bit of fish in ya
  10. Do you think there will ever be a "Ike" series revo like there was a Skeet Reese revo. I think there should be I mean hes got the ike dude combo but I bought that for my son what about a more real high performance ike revo
  11. spinning gear does make it much easier but expensive rod and reel not always necessarily when using a baitcaster I have a CHEAP quantum tennacy ap combo I got from dicks for 40 bucks I have 10lb Trilene XT on it and i can cast a weightless fluke or 7" power worm same distance I can cast a weighted plastic or any other bait on some of my other BC rods.
  12. I like to rig mine on a 4/0 skip gap hook it helps keep them from sliding, I also nose hook them with a octopus hook or one of the weighted wacky hooks threw the nose.
  13. Im the opposite I throw mine the most mid day when its the brightest out with the best luck. probably why white w/ nickle willow blades is my best producer
  14. my top colors are white with silver/nickle blades, white with gold blades, red craw pattern from dicks its the only place I found it, and green fire tiger patterns. I have black and every other color out there but they never get used or they do and dont produce and I just jump right to white and start hammering fish
  15. try mixing up the colors maybe? iv found in my experience for me at least color is all the difference. I can be throwing a white spinner double willow not get a bite switch to like a green or yellow same size and blde everything identical but the color and bam nothing but fish. I also aim for things under water to bum into alot of my strikes come after I bounce off a log or lilly pad the strike is right after the spinner hits some thing to change how it swims. If I swim it in open water all I catch is northern pike lol skim it by weed edges to I usually just do steady retrieves and let the cover speed or slow it down when I hit some thing.
  16. I know there's a lot of guys who use braid for everything and some who are 50/50 with it. Who uses it with spinners or would flouro or mono be a better choice. What knot do you use if you use braid on a spinner I usually use a palomar knot on everything besides spinners where I use a improved cinch knot but they tend to slip with braid iv found. Im gonna be throwing it on a 6'9"MHF veritas with a revo s. I got bored on shift and had nothing but BPS catalogs and put together a big long list of rod and reel combos and wish list of baits and tackle lol. 1 rod and reel combo a month till im home and i'll be all set haha im going all veritas and revo's I already have 1 revo/veritas combo and love it.
  17. very nice I wish I was there to iv always wanted to go to Florida to fish my best friend Clay goes several times a year he has a cousin that's a successful real estate agent down there with his own company and they go to the keys and fish like every other month it seems clay is going down there partying and fishing sending me pics of tons of fish he catches. Congrats on the PB
  18. My body has a pond like that in his back yard dug it maybe 10 years ago we stocked it with pan fish then bass then the weeds got out of control so they got 4 sterile asian carp from the DEC they started out maybe 12" there now anywhere between 30-45" i think the biggest one he caught was they look like mini subs swimming around. They don't even bat an eye at anything I throw at them my buddy catches one almost every time he goes out there he uses a fly rod though or a UL trout rod and a fly and tiny split shot i usually land 10 or more good sized bass in the time it takes him to get one of his carp in lol. So if all else fails u could always try a fly even if u have to tie it to your MH spinning rod and use a bobber for weight it might work but you will also slam sunfish trying lol but that will happen no mater what you use for that carp
  19. silly women doesn't she know remote's are for men to control not women it would disrupt the flow of the universe just point her in the direction of the kitchen lol
  20. it wont let me up load any pics so PM me your email address and i can send it in a email with a description of the spots
  21. I like them my nephew shoots a buck outa his every year same with my father in law well not bucks but deer we tend to get the bucks before his old eyes spot them lol
  22. ur best bet would be set up the raft in the field or side of the road then lift it over the railing and set it in. next best spot would be on the back side where theres a little drainage for the fields on the walmart side theres a flat there depending on the water level some times its big some times ur standing in ankle deep water. Lake Alice has some big boats that like to make waves and alot of jet skiers but they tend to stay on the main part between then launch and second bridge on kenyonville road. if u go up the river across from the ramp ur safe and theres alot of docks and deep edges iv caught some great fish there then the far wast end past the second bridge is good lots of stumps and weeds loaded with bass and pike but even on a full size boat its a 5-10minute ride from the ramp. i can post more tonight after shift maybe a map lay out also
  23. I love the skip gap hooks its primarily what I use especially with flukes they seem to last much much much longer
  24. I use the gulp maggots or spikes what ever you wanna call them when I take my 3 year old hes got a cane pole and his sponge bob pole hes good with both when hes focused on fishing and not giving away snacks without a hook to the fish lol. I tried night crawlers but same thing he either threw them in the water or ran around putting them in bushes lol. thats him in my avatar last summer gill fishing he had just turned 2 in that pic. i just set him up with a pencil bobber and a small circle hook hes a catching machine when he wants to be.
  25. precisely why im asking so I can make my own jika/jig rig's
