I have Oakley fives squared in the polarized black iridium and love them there's a huge difference from my old berkley glasses I had. I haven't tried them in shallow lakes and rivers back home yet but here in Kuwait fishing saltwater its like night and day like said before there's a huge difference and Oakley's are low on the totem pole when it comes to fishing glasses from what iv gathered.

Iv ordered from BPS, Cabelas, and TW. TW does have the biggest selection IMHO yeah they dont have all the cheaper models like the stuff BPS and Cabelas but most that stuff is junk anyways from what iv had. If im shoping locally the dicks and gander mountain in buffalo have huge selections so i get stuff there but if i have to order off line I usually order from TW though iv been placing alot of orders at BPS lately for salt water fishing here in kuwait though this last order kinda bummed me out. I ordered it back in May(18th) i said it was ok to ship items separate if on back order but it said all the stuff I wanted was in stock. Well.... im still waiting for it i just got a email on the 3rd that it finaly shipped all my other orders from there came quick like 7days tops this one will be almost a month long wait im not very happy at all been waiting a month for some hooks, fake shrimp stuff, and cant remember what else I think some spoons.

that would be a tempting anchor not to leave a place. iv moved quite a bit the past few years as my family grew faster then planned when we got married but theres a steady pattern I just keep moving up stream to the next lake in the series of lakes on the oak orchard river the river or one of the lakes has been either out the front porch or in the back yard loaded with small mouth. next road trip at Roberts in the pond sounds like a plan what part of cali we talking now north south middle iv been to Southern cali a few times havent been to northern cali yet.

it happens to me alot usually with dinks thinking there B.A they grab a paddle tail I set the hook they come flying at me and the lure falls short hook un touched. Iv done it with almost every soft plastic some times I land them some times I don't but they usually get out of the water and either flop back in or I pounce on them like a cat going after a laser pointer lol.

Iv fished them fast across the top, stop go retrieve diving it a few inches on the pause, slow and steady, iv used them as a swim jig trailer in muddy water, and texas rigged. When fishing them as a texas rig i have noticed the descend very slow even with a decent weight on there but it works good for waters I fish. I find it Trigged on a 3/8 tungsten weight pegged swam on the bottom invading bedded bass killer along with pitching it into log jams and such. After all frogs do spend most there time under water not spitting and sputtering across the surface. Play with it and think out side the box you wont be disappointed.

yeah you can launch it easily there out on the point there in the middle or on the eastern side of that point

yeah she shot the idea down like instantly we went with fair wind hotel and cottages got a sleeper cabin for the 3rd-6th of august then are gonna do the weekend rental from clayton marina. Im definitely gonna keep black lake in mind maybe for when im home for good this is my last deployment im outsy after this im gtfo. So i'll either take the family or my self up there next time she wanted to be right on the river and it had to be in either Clayton or Alex bay because thats mine and hers first names she wanted it to be special...........

yup hopefully it will be there in the 15th......d**n bills gotta wait till my next paycheck but all the bills are paid off at least then that leaves a whole paycheck at my new pay grade to buy fishing stuff! lol no no im responsible I have a limit.

hmmm that mclears looks good cheap as well isnt to far from all the non fishing stuff the wife wants to do could go fishing fri sat Sunday do the museum tourist stuff for her then head back home. Im gonna run the idea past her and shoot them an email most the places iv emailed are booked already and I don't want to wait much longer but there's still chance my leave dates will change.

I'v been looking for a new drop shot rod/ do all wading rod. Iv got it narrowed down to 2 rods both are the fenwick elite smallmouth rods. However I cant decide which one im torn between either the 6'9MLF or the 7'4" MF. Its gonna be a drop shot and finesse presentation rod im thinking most likely have 6# flouro on it. As ww2farmer pointed out in another thread we have alot of cover the fish cant get us into in our area and its true i cant think of hardly any open water spots i fish they all have timber or some thing for cover. For that reason im thinking maybe the 7'4" little more rod and power there to fight em out but will it still be sensitive enough to handle a dropshot or shakeyhead? I did find a killer deal on ebay for brand new combo set its a Pflueger Supreme 8230MG / Fenwick Elite Tech Rod 6'9" ESMS69ML-F Custom Combo for 159. How is the power on the 6'9" MLF Is the 7'4" to much rod for these applications. im probably gonna use it for all of this Dropshot, Shakey head, soft jerk baits, light jigs, light soft plastics, smaller hard jerkbaits

nice, Living in the country is the best iv spent my whole life minus college in the country I wouldn't want it any other way. No noise pollution no light pollution you can actually see the stars and hear all the animals in the woods some times you can hear some thing get eatin lol. its a 20 minute drive to go grocery shopping back home and even then I think its to close to civilization having to go that far. Congrats on the new place your gonna have to post pics of the finished result with them replica mounts in there.

Does any one have any recommendations for cabins to rent and boat rentals in the 1000 islands. The wife and I are going there for a weekend when im home on leave in the end of July first week of August. I was thinking the Clayton area naturally lol but am open to any suggestions of good places to stay and fish. Also if any of you could point me on where to hit once on the water so I can put the wife on some fish as last night when me and her were talking and she said she loved to fish I had to correct her and say she loves to catch not fish lol. Shes very impatient so if anyone knows some good spots id appreciate it thanks.

maybe idk I looked it up before coming here and seen the KNB has fishing( where I am at ) and that there's ponds and lakes and fishing is very popular in Kuwait lakes are often stocked with perch,bass,walleye,pike,bluegill. That's what I read on some website on this place. So far iv pretty much seen the whole country iv drove up to Iraq, Saudi Arabia, from one corner across to the other both on high way and the 4wheel drive way threw the sand. all iv seen is garbage and camels theres no lakes or water besides here at the naval base and along coastal road which is an awesome drive big mansions and Ferrari's, porches rich sobs.

I was out and about today in Kuwait trying to merge onto the highway and what goes flying by me a fricking bass boat in the desert! I thought i was seeing things so i took off trying to catch up we were doing kph and just started to gain on them till i got told to slow down a bit but it was definitely a bass boat had a front mount trolling motor had the pedestal seat up front all the storage compartments i could see the chrome handles to lift the door up for storage. I don't know where the heck they could be using it maybe in the shallows fishing in the ocean but I was not expecting to see that well over here but then again they all have jet ski's and speed boats so why not a bass boat.

im with what every one else said drag is your friend in this situation my PB light liner was a 20lb salmon not big by any means but i caught it on a 4'6 UL with #4 stren took me like 2 hours and lots of "oh bleeps" and took of running down stream reeling trying to not get spooled. anythings possible

Yeah theres alot of us that have griped about our wives and what not heck im one of em me and the wife had a huge blow up today over some petty crap we fight probably every week never anything serious usually dumb pointless stuff under stress yeah some times from the kids after all shes home alone with a 10month old a 3 year old and a 1year old German Shepard its no wonder shes not in straight jacket crazy. Im just saying not getting married keeps things from not happening all the stuff you say happens to married people happens to those who just date as well. In the end you just gotta do what you want when u find the right girl and wanna give some things up do it if not don't but I will admit my fishing gear has improved ten fold being married i went from 1 tackle box i carried in my back pocket and a cheap walmart combo to my wife buying me tons of lures cuz there shinny or she wants me to have the "best" like some one said 2 incomes with all the same bills and kids arnt that expensive.
