  1. The best spot would right in the corner of the mouth. If you are to close to the center of there mouth it's so hard you miss a lot. Garnet
  2. KVD 2.5 million Ike 1.5 million Still would like to walk in both there shoes. Garnet
  3. Make sure that Tim hortons coffee knows why the UPS guys are boycotting and what they should do. You are correct Tim Horton has been dead for 30 something years but it's a very interesting story and corporations like interesting storys about them selves. If everybody on all these forums goes to Tim Hortons and fills out the comment card or writes the ceo this will be stopped. Remember Positive solutions. Garnet
  4. I see Tim Horton (the angler) on the front of a bass boat in skates Toronto maple leafs jersy Tim Horton (the hockey player) played for Toronto with a confused look and a baitcaster and a gaint crankbait. And then cut to coffe and donuts. Maybe with the real Tim Horton (the hockey Player) explaining how he got into coffe/donuts biz to Tim Horton(the angler). The only thing Tim Horton the Corp. needs to get is the story the marketing dept. can spin the tail I see 15 -20 comerrsals down south then a bunch spoffing the southern boys. Garnet
  5. The reality is that the CEO or the head of invester relation proably does'nt no about Tim Horton (the angler). If the ceo got POSITIVE feedback on Tim Horton (angler) they might add him to there fishing sponcership program. Currently Bob Izumi is the only one on this deal. A nice boat wrap deal for life and some agreement on verbage could be worked out. Tim Hortons (the coffee/donut) have locations in all border states an as far down as Ohio they need to get the rest of the states hooked on coffee just like the northern states. So theres a fit for the wrap job but corp. need the get the idea that a beautifull wrap boat giving out sample coffee would work down south. Tim Horton (the angler) needs to tye all this with B.A.S.S. So Tim (the angler) Remenber me Garnet
  6. Tim Horton's is a U.S. company about a year ago Wendy's International ipo Tim Hortons as a stand alone company. There head office is in Canada and most of the money is generated in Canada and also is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange. The main listing is on the New York Stock Exchange ticker THI. I talked a couple guys out of investing there life savings in the ipo, the stock ipo at about $28 and in a few hrs. shot to $50-60 and faded to $28 by the end of the trading day. This is normal for a hot ipo the dum money buys then gets scared and sells. Theres a thread on Big Fat Bass dealing with this and right now most Canadain Anglers are writing and phoning Tim Hortons head office. This is legal I.D. Thieft and Tim Hortons (coffee/Donut) should not win. But it's the U.S. were the most money wins in a legal fight. Garnet
  7. I've made to the top locally and back to the middle and back to the top and back to the middle. The real elite tourney anglers I concider freaks. They travell alone, plan alone, fish alone, eat alone, and get a thrill by standing on a stage for 2 minutes. I will take job, mortage, family, investments and fishing. For me the true elite anglers can balance all these things and still fish at a very high level. Garnet
  8. Are you fishing a draw tourney or a buddy tourney. If it's a buddy tourney then don't change anything from your normal fishing day be aware of all rules and have fun. At the end of the day write a report in a three ring binder were you fish what the general conditions and what you wieght and what the winners wieght. At this piont there will be no end of ways to improve your skills have fun on your adventure. Garnet
  9. One of my great advantages has been learning ever tech. with both Spinning and Baitcaster. So if I pull on a spot and wack them with a baitcaster dropshot and they stop biting pickup the spinning rod with the dropshot same bait. The advantage is you immeditly change your range of presentations but still have the same bait. In a tournament I start the second day with the other rod. It's cashed a lot of dough over the years. Some don't transferr very well spinnerbaits and cranks but I'm still perpared and have a spinning rod available that will best do the job. Garnet

bassmagnetlures.com min. order is 250. Tell Mike I sent you I might get another T-shirt. Garnet
  11. SpeedBead your problem is making sence. In the whole world of making sence fishing is not it. Most of these companys are following a fad if they get some customer they stick if not it will be blue line next year and I will have 1/2 spool for sale. Garnet
  12. Have you tried the Lindy No Snag Sinkers. And you can make a no snag sinker out of small black nylon with slit shot in it and melt the end closed works pretty good. Garnet
  13. Power pro has come out with a Red line. I think in shallow weedy water the color will be a nonfactor for fish and I can see the line really well. I've talked to some Salmon guys that run Dipsy Divers and they seem interested. I think that I will find a place for Red Power Pro. Garnet
  14. It's a no lose deal even if you don't draw the local hotshot you will see diffeent boats, tackle, different tech. it's even good to draw guys that a stuggling learning what not to do is bigger than what to do. After 25 years in tourneys I wish I'd spend more time as non boater. Garnet
  15. I use the owner Mosgito hook on top and hooks set hard with no problem. I lossed a tourney by hooking 2 smallies about 4 lbs and had it happen several times fun fishing. I even tired 14 lb on a baitcaster they still broke the line so no more of that crap. Garnet
  16. I use them all Mustad have the best Quality eyes. Very little gap for Knots to slide out. Gammis and Owners are terrible for this but we let the companys away with this and still pay top dollar. Garnet
  17. I've had success with just making a loop thru your bell sinker and then putting your bell sinker thru the loop and tighting down. It still will slip off. Garnet
  18. I worked this system. The problem in my area is 2 4 lb Smallies at the same time doesn't work so I moved on. Garnet

Most of these musky guys are using the flor. to be easier on the muskies slime coat and injurys to fish. Again there baits are very large and muskies don't miss them very often. Most of these baits are 10 times the price of a pointer lucky craft. Garnet
  20. If you pickup a strikeking willow and pull the blades strait you will see that theres a slight interference with the blades. Also Nicholes they add the metal-brass blade combo. So when you hesitate your bait or hit something the blades run into each bang and crashing bouncing the skirt. Its a very powerful trigger. Garnet

Those musky guys are throwing little bigger baits than you are. Most are using 100lb+ flour leaders that will kill bass baits. All the wire and single stran will do the same. I've never used those berckly black ones. If you are fishing this river over and over muskys relate to the same areas the same way so you should no the danger. The best thing to do is suck it up and have plenty of baits. Garnet
  22. Yes I'm a spinnerbait guy. Another thing I look for is separte frame for colardo blades most just stick colarado blades on a willow blade frame and the balance is just junk. Garnet
  23. I use a lot of painted blades our northern pike just love flashy spinnerbaits and aren't as aggressive with painted blades. Garnet
  24. I like round or wide on the bottom for largies and target fishing you can get the blades turning but keep the spinnerbait from moving to far better than minnowhead. I like the minnowhead for smallies because you can remove some of the skirt untill you get speed control and have more skirt left than round head. I up my wieght to decrease blade size. So I take rubbercore add 1/8 to a 3/8 have my smaller blades and 1/2. My best spinnerbait is Nichols and it's round head but has a steelblade, brass blade combination. I was surprized when I went KVD talk that most of what I was doing he talked about. I was aware that some spinnerbaits were better than others. The thing he talked about was the blades hitting each other. When I got home and check my best spinnerbaits had this quality. And strikeking is next but they don't have the steel, brass combination of Nichols. Both of these are thicker wire spinnerbaits that I bend to tune for smalies or largies I use no titantmen. Garnet
  25. Bandit is my goto crank. The big thing is all the body shapes are the same, so 2-4 has 1 lip the 5-8 a different lip right up to the 300 series. That takes some guess out of the deal. Garnet
