Skeet Reese
The Wright & McGill SK reel is pretty much junk apparently. I've never used one but that seems to be the consensus, so my question is: What reels does Skeet fish with? Just curious...

Power-Poles
x 2. power poles are cool, but not anywhere near practical for me. Matter of fact guys who have them get laughed at up here because they just don't have much use. Glacier lakes have steep sides.

Good Bait Casting Rods Under 100$???
if you want to save a few bucks the Abu Vendetta is a very solid choice too. Not super finesse type rods, but as far as being a good workhorse rod I like them. Used to fish veritas' but I had quite a few issues with quality control and I broke 2 of them. Haven't had any of these issues with the vendetta.

Hooks For Punching
The straight shank hook is supposed to provide a better hook up % because the point of the hook is out in front of the eye. I use the vmc heavy cover flippin hook and love them. A lot of people say the ewg hook doesnt have as good a hookup % because the hook point is inline with the eye. Ive used both ewg and straight shank, never had an issue with either, besides the fact that the straight shank is a lot stronger hook.

Trolling Motor Batteries
Yes. Ive seen close to those numbers with my batteries. New trolling motors are very efficient. I doubt your outboard is setup to charge deep cycle batteries efficiently. Probably just good batteries and a new TM. I wouldnt run them like that often though...

Help Catching "cruisers"
cruisers are VERY hard to catch. Usually if you can see them they can see you and because they are not guarding a nest they are not inclined to bite after seeing you. The only way I've found to get one to bite is with reaction baits like a spinner bait, crankbait, chatterbait etc. After seeing one back up and give it a few minutes, then approach from a distance and fan cast the area you saw the fish.

Grigsby, Hackney, Swindle are probably my top 3

Frog Reel / Gen 3 Revo Vs Bb1
If I'm not mistaken the BB1 does not have a conventional anti-reverse system. For a frog rod I look for 3 things. 1) be able to bomb the bait waaaaay back into the pads 2) as much drag as i can get to horse a fish out and 3) Be able to lay down a solid hookset through pads, matted vegetation, and at a distance. The Bb1 was designed as a cranking reel by Mr. Fritts, I'd go with the revo sx. But to each his own.

Wiring My "poor Mans" Bass Boat
In my experience humminbird electronics have more issues with interference than lowrance. I have a mark 5x hooked to one of the batteries in my 24v system and it has no interference issues at all. But paranoia got the better of me when I was wiring in my Elite 7hdi and I ran the wires on the opposite side of the boat directly to the cranking battery rather than the switch panel. I have no interference on that one either, and peace of mind.

Bill Norman Crankbaits ?
I have a Flat Broke and I really don't like it to be honest. First Norman bait I haven't been sold on. The DD22 is a staple summer pattern bait for me. I choose it over the 6 series Strike King 9/10 times.

New Boat What Add Ons??
to get the full use out of Side Imaging or Down Imaging you usually need to be moving, so most of the time guys want the unit that can do that stuff on the console. In the front of the boat 2D sonar is a good option because it works sitting still while you are fishing. Obviously there are exceptions and people have things rigged their own way on every boat, but this seems to be the consensus for people on a budget.

Suggestions For A Sub-$100 Medium-To-Deep Cranking Rod Around 7'6" ?
I should clarify. The rod i bought is the deep cranking 7'8" heavy action. It has a super soft tip for deep crankbaits and tons of backbone past the 4th eyelit. When i said it was heavy i meant it weighs more than an average rod, but i expected that because its fiberglass. The blue looks better in person than in the pictures. Its kind of grown on me. Ive got a 5:2:1 bps pro qualifier on it and i really like the setup.

Suggestions For A Sub-$100 Medium-To-Deep Cranking Rod Around 7'6" ?
The 7'8" is heavy as far as rods go. But thats expected with a glass rod i suppose. the 7' versions are a little lighter because the blank isn't as thick. The blue finish is kind of weird BUT the handle, reel seat, and guides are all very high quality. I got mine for a mega discount through sponsorship otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought it. Now that I've used it however, I would definitely pay $65 for one. IMO it is worth the money as a dedicated crankbait rod.

Better Halfs Fishing Skills.
Mine loves being in the boat almost as much as I do. We hit the walleye run last weekend, she stuck it out through rain and 40 degree temps. She caught more fish than me and all the ones we fileted for dinner. And she caught a freakin sturgeon...

Do Any Of You Put You're Other Hobbies On The Backburner For Fishing ?
Fishing and hunting have been my only real hobbies for the last 15-16 years of my life. When I was just a kid there was nothing I loved more than fishing or hunting. The only reason I have had to deer hunt a little less in the fall as of late is because my bass tournaments run till the end of october. Besides organized sports (football, baseball, bar league softball) its all I've ever done for enjoyment.
