  1. obviously paying the $20 is an option, I was just curious about any clever DIY ways to do it. I like that idea quite a bit Fish Chris, thanks. I was thinking of using lead shot (like out of a shotgun shell) instead of quarters though. That should work.

  3. I've got a 7' medium action Cabelas prodigy casting rod that im going to use for a finesse/worm rod this year. Its not a bad setup but im pairing it with a bps prolite finesse reel and the setup is really tip heavy. The rod has a threaded butt cap for a weight system but it costs ~20$ from cabelas. Wondering if anybody has any clever ideas for balancing their rods?
  4. I'm glad we (UWSP) are fishing against you guys if that's how you fish. Pick a few of the most productive baits ever produced in history for bass and never use them, now that's bold... at least your not a NEWB I guess. 1 bait that I rarely throw is a swim jig. I prefer a spinnerbait.
  5. I've tried it and it shuts the bass off... Ive come to the conclusion that between northern, musky, and walleye I'm gonna lose a ot of baits every summer. Thats why I don't through pointers, and vision 110's lol
  6. sink a few christmas trees with cinderblocks and mark them on your gps. come back in 3 days and lay into them. With that little cover in the lake, the smallest bit will be a fish magnet.
  7. If you havent fished it, and it hasnt gotten soaked or something take it apart and reassemble with oil and grease. It should be just fine.
  8. my suggestion is get a project boat with your 5k budget and spend time over the next few years improving it. this is the best way to stretch your dollar, a little elbow grease.
  9. senkos, tubes, rage tail craws, roboworms, missile dbomb, sweet beavers, horny toads, pit boss, zoom finesse, power worms
  10. For a full day on the water pre-fishing I bring: -Ice water -snickers -venison/chese sandwhich -busch light Tournament day: -ice water -sandwhich -sunflower seeds -marlboro reds
  11. 1. yes when I'm pitching/flipping 2. yes, but only in a tournament when boat position is crucial (and it is team format obviously)
  12. Good call. Then you'll be able to get on the tournament trail without the handicap of a 10' boat.
  13. probably because it is nearly hanging over the front of the boat... I would be quite nervous about having 3 people in there loaded down with an outboard/trolling motor and battery/gas tank and fishing gear. Especially if one of those people was a young child. If you hit a 5-10mph breeze the wrong way I would imagine things could get pretty hairy in a hurry. The biggest issue I see is that those seats raise your center of gravity, which translates to the boat being more prone to tipping and rocking. Just my observations though.
  14. where did you find them? I just spent 20 minutes looking on their site...
  15. A big husky jerk is a great jerkbait. Will it catch bass? yup. Will it catch a ****load of snake northern? yup.
  16. Tubes/Worms: Black blue, Watermelon red fleck, Brown craw Spinnerbaits/Chatterbaits: White/Chartreuse, Blue gill, Black blue Lipless Crankbaits/Crankbaits: Shad, Chartreuse/black, Blue gill Jigs: Black/Blue, Black/Brown, Green pumpkin/brown
  17. P-line CXX is some badass stuff. Your gonna like it if your pitching with it.
  18. I fish collegiate BASS and Boat US tournaments regularly and all my casting rods are Vendettas. They haven't let me down yet.
  19. Often with Revo's the anti-reverse star that is underneath the brass main gear isn't seated properly and doesn't line up with the piece that is moved when you push the button on the reel. So when you push the button it will free spool but when you turn the handle it will not reset the button and engage the spool. The inside of that reel looks just like my revo's so I'm guessing the operation is nearly the same. I have seen that anti-reverse star stick to the bottom of the main gear before. Flip the main gear over and see if it has one stuck to it. Hopefully this helps. If that is not your problem, I would use acetone to clean the drag washers off and put them back in and see if that helps. good luck.
  20. i like a flat sided crankbait for cold weather fish. The KVD 1.5 is a producing bait, considering their price point I'll be buying a few. Hopefully more guys think like these 2^
  21. I got em! Thanks a lot
  22. I don't know if he even noticed that he won...
  23. I can't and never will trust a loop knot, especially on a jig. I can't seem to justify replacing a palomar with it. I think its just a mental barrier for me. lol I see guys using them on topwater and stuff and It gets me all nervous.
