  1. That's about right, it's been my experience that when the weather is fair, like spring, you'll find more people bathing in the lake than you'll find bass.
  2. You can use the little table they supply on the site http://www.abugarcia.com/abugarcia-rods-casting-rods/1373583.html#specifications Says it's a medium heavy power-fast action
  3. That's the cost of fishing, more so with lighter tackle.
  4. It's got a very limited use, the gears are sure nice and fit in other 50's e-body reels
  5. Main difference will be the colors and rareniums will have slower gear ratios. I have a 2500S (shallow) and it has a little less capacity than a 1000
  6. It's mainly because I have 5 rods slated for jig use, 2 of them being dedicated which have 12lb+ fluro on them. I jig with weedguards into cover/structure, just something I don't use a mlxf with 6lb line into. If I had to I'd try braid with a 10-12lb leader.
  7. Shouldnt be that hard, price is the real factor. All the little details could be found narrowing the dollar amount options. Thing is you can search basspro/cabs/dicks/gander and find out prices, then you can go from there.
  8. I'm a huge fan of the xf croixs, though I haven't tried a short mlxf so I couldnt comment how they feel. I do have two of the 6'10mlxf rods and they are great. The xtreme does so much work it basically is my main spinning rod. Although I wouldn't jig with a weedguard on it, I've done trig 5" senkos without a problem. You need the shorter length for kayak?
  9. If you can't spend $10~20 on salt tackle, how can you afford to fish the surf?
  10. ut-oh, it turned into the Who's got the biggest shimano contest
  11. Tighten the drag up and see if it starts moving
  12. Really comes down to how you fish, I've met many guys that fish the local waters here and they have a similar approach to bill's. Old school, lower budget gear that still gets the job done. Mentality dictates that you don't need to pay for higher end equipment but the same result of catching fish happens. I wouldn't call it silly, but the different levels of fishing as "diverse" and I like it that way, so anyone can go out and enjoy the hobby in which they choose.
  13. Don't take that part too seriously, many others have been warned about posts and been deleted because of the content that's not allowed, it's all layed out in the rules which is extensive, could possibly say its novel sized. That goes for certain websites too.
  14. I'm not a philanthropist
  15. You could ship any scale out to get it certified, or find a local or in-house service
  16. Billionaire playboy
  17. Had an FJ, still have a couple ci4+ because of the weight difference. Both feel just as smooth. Though for almost half the price I like the lews team pro carbon that weighs slightly more than the ci4 but you cant beat the price.
  18. Usually you ask before you buy. It's a good rod with many uses, jig/trig/frog. It's a nice pitching stick.
  19. I like the Rod Glove. I have Stick Jackets but not really a fan considering their claim of 'hangable' rods doesn't even hold.
  20. I think having only 3 combos and choosing your favorite out of the 3 is limiting your options. There's a lot of brands out there that offer variety.
