  1. Although they are saying we are supposed to get snow this evening, Friday night the low will only be around 40 and the high on Saturday is expected to be around 50. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can get out Saturday afternoon.
  2. I like a mh/f rod. I like to fish flukes in the weeds. The mh/f lets me get the bait and the fish clear of the vegetation.
  3. Jitterbugs never fail to produce for me at night.
  4. Jerkbaits and my electronics. I’ve slowly been gaining confidence with jerkbaits but I don’t think I used my fish finder more than a couple times last year.
  5. I treat kayaks like other bass boats. As long as they don’t crowd me and try to fish where I’m fishing I don’t have a problem with them.
  6. When the mono is up around 12 pounds or so it really starts to lose any stretch it has. Below 10 then you can stretch it whether it’s wet or dry.
  7. Nope. I like fishing them weightless.
  8. The components of the high priced baits may be better, but sometimes it's about how all those parts fit and work together.
  9. I use to buy jigs with rattles, but then I never noticed any difference in the bite from the jigs that didn't have rattles. Now I don't use rattles at all.
  10. Nice find. You are set for spring.
  11. I've seen several guys fishing plastic worms with them. The last time I held one was when I took my daughter fishing about 7 or 8 years ago. From what I can remember they are a breeze to break down and clean.
  12. Congratulations on the first bass! There will be many more to come.
  13. I've never heard of them called a kid's lure, but I have heard them called an old lure. I know a lot of anglers that won't fish with them because they are not the latest and greatest bait.
  14. I’ve only wiped down my rods. Never have applied anything to them.
  15. This time of year it would be a lipless crankbait, jig and craw, and a bladed jig.
  16. Junebug, black, or green pumpkin.
  17. I would try a weightless fluke. You might be able to work it through the thin spots in the vegetation and across the top of the thicker vegetation like a topwater bait.
  18. Congratulations on your new fishing partner!!
  19. I don't think I will show my wife this one.
  20. I fish with what the bass are hitting. If I'm not getting bites then I change baits. On one lake I fish I have never done any good with a popper. The bass just won't come up after it, but I can cast a jitterbug in the same location and I will start catching.
  21. When I'm fishing I don't intentionally go looking for baits, but I do keep my eyes open. I also have a few favorite trees I check out if the bite slows way down. This is my haul from 2018.
  22. Junebug is one of my favorite colors in the spring.
  23. A cell phone to take pics of the parts before you take them off, and some kind of magnifying glass.
