  1. Some nice fish right there.
  2. I don't worry about the rod color unless it's something really, really different. I'm more worried about whether or not the rod feels balanced while I'm using it.
  3. I've never watched an episode.
  4. In clear water I will start off with variations on natural colors like the greens and the browns. The greens usually work a little better for me, probably because of the vegetation growing in the lake.
  5. Good catching!
  6. I think the skill is finding the bass, and putting together a pattern based on the conditions. Luck comes into it when you're on the water and have no problems, and catch a 30 pound bag.
  7. Zoom super chunk, and super chunk jr. If I'm fishing a light jig, maybe 1/4 or 1/8 ounce I'll use a Zoom finesse worm.
  8. There has been a lot of times when I have checked the weather, moon phase, lake conditions, and then looked at my old fishing logs before I have left for a fishing trip. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it doesn't.
  9. I'm hoping to get out on the water more. Last year it seemed there was always something unexpected happening around the time I was planning on going fishing.
  10. Nice to hear you're back home now. Just take it easy and heal up.
  11. Didn't have a great year last year, but my largest was caught on a 3/8 black jig, with a black and blue trailer.
  12. Last year in March I was practicing walking the dog with a spook and I had dinks coming up after the bait. I was bringing the bait back over the top of submerged grass at the time.
  13. My last bass of 2018 was back on Oct. 20. It seems like so long ago.
  14. Good job on those smallies!
  15. Same for me. Before it was a sport, we fished to put food on the table.
  16. As long as I'm not cold and the water isn't hard it's a good day to be on the water.
  17. My lipless rod is a 7’0” mh/m. I use it for both open water and grass. I fish with 1/2 ounce baits most of the time.
  18. All of my rods are 6’6” except two. My crankbait rod and drop shot rod are both 7’0”.
  19. I just restocked my supply of sassy shads. Those little swimbaits will catch anything.
  20. New

    Welcome to the forums.
  21. Clean reels, organize tackle bag, sharpen hooks, get some home projects done, and watch YouTube videos of other people catching bass. It’s only eight weeks until the first of March.
  22. A lot of the ponds that I fish are choked with weeds. When I’m fishing with a tube, I’ll usually have it t-rigged.
  23. Nice catching! That is a healthy looking fish.
