Sometimes You Just Have To Laugh
I get the worst backlashes when I hit something on the cast. The ones I get while casting are usually pretty easy to get undone.

Hurricane Florence
Yes, be safe. Weatherman here said that this could be the worst hurricane to hit the coast in 30 years.

Never Forget ~
I was working next to an airport when they stopped all flights. It was very eerie when you would go outside and everything was quiet.

Jigs N Grass
When I fish from shore I start out with a t-rig with a 1/4 ounce weight. I make short casts maybe 30 or 40 feet along the bank, and straight out. I'll fish a 3/8 or 1/8 jig from the shore depending on how much wind there is, and how much vegetation I have to pull through.

Hurricane Season has Arrived
What's left of Gordon is suppose to hit here over the weekend about the same time as a cold front moving through. We are suppose to get heavy rain, and a lot of it. Hopefully it will bring up the lakes from the drought.

More blackbears oh my
A lot of bears to the south, but right now there are none around my area.

Topwater Dreams
Black Jitterbug.

Favorite?
Weightless Zoom speed craw pulled fast across the top of the surface vegetation.

Flipping pads problem
If a bass tangles me in pads I go and get the fish. My worry is that the pads could be hiding something like stump that I could run into.

Poppers
I like a 6'6" med. fast spinning rod when I use a pop-r. I have had really good luck this year fishing them around exposed vegetation.

Round vs low profile
I have a 5500, and two 5600s. One 5600 is 15 years old and the other two are around 25 or so. Over the years I have started using low profile reels more and more. Nothing wrong with my round reels, I just like fishing with the low profiles more.

Popular Colors That Don't Produce for You!
I have never had very good luck with baby bass, pink, chartreuse, or a chartreuse tail. Watermelon red is funny. Either the bass will go after it as soon as it hits the water, or they will ignore it completely.

Ultralight fishing for bass
I like UL for panfish, but not much else.

Do you ever get used to split grips?
For a few trips I went down to the local park with just a spinnerbait on a split grip rod. After a while I finally started to get use to it.

Thinking About Fall Fishing
We're slowly starting to cool down a bit here. Five days of high temps around 95 then two days with highs in the 80's.

signs of fall
Fall is trying to start here, but summer keeps holding on.

Car enthusiast
Before I was born my parents had a '55 Chevy. I about fell out of the chair when I saw a pic of it. I asked them why they got rid of a classic and they said they wanted to get a new car before I was born. During the first oil embargo of 1973, my Mom bought a two tone Nova with a 350 on sale from a Chevy dealer. With the gas prices going up they couldn't move it, so my Mom got it for a good deal. The only thing she didn't like was that it was manual instead of auto. When I started driving I got that car. Drove it until I finished college, then sold it. About 6 years later my wife and I were eating at a place that hosts car shows in the summer. We were walking around looking at the cars and there was my old Nova sitting there. Talked to the new owner for about 15 or 20 minutes. He had made some changes to it, but kept the paint the same. I still miss that car.

Good lake go bad?? Why?
When that happens to the ponds around here it is usually due to an increase in fishing pressure. I have a good pond near my house, but a few years ago it seemed like the entire town was there after the word got out that you could catch bass there.

Wow! That's huge. I would hate to be the one removing the hook with those teeth.

PaddleTail Swimbaits!
Good video Glenn, I always use a jig head when fishing them. I think I learned a thing or two.
