  1. Bring extra batteries. There's nothing worse than your headlamp going out while you're digging out a backlash.
  2. The panfish around here, and some of the small bass, will keep picking up the bait and playing with it as long as it is in front of them. When I get those kind of bites I usually move to a new location.
  3. It depends on how thick the vegetation is.
  4. I'd anchor the boat right over that drop off and cast my baits out parallel to the drop off. I would work the entire water column. Top, middle, and on the bottom.
  5. Glad he's OK. I bet that is going to sting in the morning.
  6. They might have been catfish. Every time the water is clear and I get a bait near a carp, the carp takes off.
  7. My daughter will eat pretty much anything you put in front of her, but the problem is she doesn't like to be around other people when they eat. Fun times at the dinner table.
  8. Are you buying from a computer store? A lot of times they will transfer your files to the new computer for you.
  9. The sun is sweating.
  10. Dusk, Dawn, or at night I would fish a popper around those floating grass clumps.
  11. When the ramp is empty I like to get on one side of it and cast across it dragging the bait back across the concrete.
  12. Wow! Nice one!
  13. I hope all goes well. I know a couple of people that have had valves replaced. One got through it with just his chest being sore, and the other was in agony for about a week after the procedure.
  14. Congratulations on the new PB! If your anything like me you put the scale down someplace where you wouldn't forget it.
  15. Only use weightless plastics around the dam, or the rocks will eat your bait. Watch for snakes. It isn't about how fast you launch the boat, but it's knowing where to fish after the boat is in the water.
  16. No way. Period. Not in the waters around where I live.
  17. This is so sad. We have ridden in the ducks many times on Family vacations.
  18. I have some of the older BPS rods. They have held up very well over the years.

Depends on how deep I want to go into the vegetation. 1/8 ounce for skirting across the top, 3/8 ounce for going down a couple of feet, and 1+ ounces if I want to go all the way to the bottom.
  20. I started having back problems when I was 39. I could bend over, or I could twist at the waist. When the two happened at the same time my back would seize up. I'd either be bent over forward, or bent over sideways, and it hurt like the devil when I would try and straighten up. It would usually take about a month to heal back up. I really started working out after I had shoulder surgery and noticed that my back quit bothering me. Now I work out a couple of times a week just to keep everything working pain free.
  21. My most successful is also my favorite. Jig and craw.
  22. I think it depends on how you use the boat.
  23. In lakes that I know the first thing I do is start looking for thick vegetation. I also like to fish where there are a lot of bugs flying around. The bugs seem to get the food chain in motion.

  25. I put a pencil through the spool and have my wife hold on to it while I reel the line on.
