  1. To my old original Cordell big-o which I hung up and lost around 40+ years ago.
  2. Nice fish and nice pics.
  3. Welcome aboard and congratulations!
  4. This time of year I fish mostly from the bank. I find structure or cover that I can reach by casting out to it, and I fish it very slowly. I'll use a jig or t-rig, and fish the spot from every angle I can without getting hung up.
  5. Probably around 6 or 7 times commercially. Usually going on vacation with the family. First time I ever flew the plane was landing in Orlando, and we were about as high as the tops of the surrounding buildings. All of a sudden the plane's engines powered back up and we start going up and bank off away from the airport. All of the passengers seated on the plane were looking around trying to figure out what was happening. We circled once and then came back around and landed. As we were exiting the plane I heard one of the crew say that the landing gear was not down all of the way on the first approach.
  6. You buy gear. You take it out on the water and use it, and over time it wears out. You buy more gear. It is the circle of life.
  7. When I was in grade school many years ago my Mom always told me that some of the most educated people are some of the dumbest. I never knew what she meant until I got out into the real world.
  8. Most of the time I fish only during the weekends. If my wrist starts acting up on a weekend it usually clears up by the next weekend. If it didn't I would go to a Dr.
  9. Most of the time I will target bass only during the spring, summer, and fall. In winter I will go after panfish, and trout.
  10. That's a big bass! Congratulations!
  11. Nice ones right there!
  12. Locally I usually catch one or two bass over 5, and a handful of bass over 4 each year. This year I have only caught one over 4, and that was back in the spring. I have tried mapping out where the large ones aren't, and fishing different areas, but that hasn't worked either.
  13. So sorry for your loss.
  14. For open water I would use a MHF or MHXF. For punching I would use a HXF.
  15. So sorry for your loss.
  16. 4 to 6 foot range I like a Cordell Big-O.
  17. Nice bass!
  18. I fish the same baits that I use in the summer, only I slow them down.
  19. I have had pretty good luck with a 1/16 ounce bass jig under a bobber. Cast it out and slowly reel it back in.
  20. Love that show.
  21. Sassy Shad, jig and trailer, and a jerkbait.
  22. I lost my Dad about 2-1/2 years ago and my Mom a little over 11 years ago. Sorry for your loss and I will raise a glass.
  23. Nice going on the new PB!
