  1. I have two revo-s that are 1st gen, and three Abu round reels. The newest of the round reels is 13 years old. Except for the pawl going out in the round reels I have never had any issues with them.
  2. I usually fish them t-rigged or weightless.
  3. Congrats! That is a nice smallie!
  4. Wow I've never caught two species at the same time.
  5. I weigh the bass.
  6. The only bait I can think of is Bee-Jay. I have not seen a jar of that in years.
  7. Well here in Mo. the muskie seem to like Rat-l-traps.
  8. I can't tell you how many times I've brought my rod back to make a cast and hit something behind me while fishing off of the bank. It is real hard to hold in the cuss words after you've spooled a reel full of 15 pound line.
  9. Every winter the hooks on my baits get sharpened. Then they get touched up through the fishing season as needed.
  10. I have brought home bugs before in my tackle bag but never maggots. Did you have food in your tackle box?
  11. I could probably learn a thing or two from everyone on this forum!
  12. If tourneys get to much like work they aren't going to be fun.

That's one day I know I will never forget.
  14. There were thunderstorms in the area, so it could have been a lot worse.
  15. My revo is like that. There should be a screw on the right side of the bar, on the outside of the reel. Loosen that up. The screw may come out or may stay in. My revos just come loose, but do not come out. When the screw is loose, the left side of the reel will either come off, or will unlock so you can turn the cover and remove it.
  16. Lipless and shallow running crankbaits, spinnerbaits and bladed jigs.
  17. I have not had a day like yesterday in quite sometime. I don't mean that in a good way. First cast of the day my line breaks and my buzzbait goes sailing across the lake. The area I was fishing was only about 4 to 5 feet deep so I was able to snag my line and get the buzzbait back. Tried to retie and my line kept breaking. I don't know what was going on there, maybe the mono I was using was too weathered. That rig was put away. I got one bass on a fluke, and two on a blue/black jig. All three were about the same size, around-1-1/2 pounds. That's when I had my next problem. I noticed that the jig was hanging down from the 2nd guide from the top. I thought the line was wrapped around the rod so I turned the rod over, but that didn't help. I take a closer look at the rod and see the reason that the jig is hanging down from the second guide is because the rod tip is gone. The guide is down the line next to the jig. Rod tip is ok the guide just came off. I cut off the jig and put the guide in my pocket so I wouldn't lose it. This is the second tip for this rod. The original was damaged and replaced about 6 years ago. I tied the jig on my rig I was using for t-rigs and fished a couple of more hours managing to catch two more that were about 1-1/2 pounds. When I got home I decided to clean the reels and put new line on all of them. Rod tip has been reattached with epoxy.
  18. That's one nice bass right there!
  19. It may not happen when I visit a new fishing spot for the first time, but sooner or later I am going to catch a bass out of that body of water.
  20. I cannot throw a black frog on one of the local lakes I fish. I soon as I start working the bait back in the bullfrogs will come after it.
  21. I bought one new back in 2011, and I got a used one last year. I have never had any issues with either of them.
  22. Try to fish on the side that the wind is hitting.
  23. Real friends are hard to come by. So sorry for your loss.
