  1. Mann's 1/4 ounce 1- minus. I've been burning it over the top of milfoil.
  2. I don't carry a lot of first aid items, but I do carry a lot of stuff that could be used for first aid in an emergency. Knife, lighter, several clean white cotton rags, and rope. If it came to it I also have some small circle hooks, and small diameter braid in my tackle bag.
  3. Nice bass!
  4. Lunky Corkah here. Glad to meet you.
  5. Same as my spinnerbait colors. White, Green Pumpkin, and Chart / White.
  6. You might check out some yard sales or some auctions. Sometimes you can find quite a bargain.
  7. I would use a ML for the spinners, and a M for the weightless senkos.
  8. Nice Looking bass!
  9. The jitterbug is probably my favorite topwater. It casts out good, and you can retrieve it in a straight line if you have a clean path between vegetation.
  10. That's some good catching right there!
  11. That's the way to do it! Good Going!
  12. I started wearing one this year when I'm out on the water. I also wear it while working out in the yard and cutting the grass.
  13. You sure it's catfish? I have seen some big bluegill and crappie caught out of that lake.
  14. New Town in St. Charles? That place is about 5 min from my house. There are some canals that connect to the main lake, and some very shallow spots. I use to take my daughters there to catch bluegill, and sunnies. Your biggest problem is not going to be what bait to throw, but a spot to fish in. The main lake, that goes off to the west, is used for all types of water activity. There are also a lot of houses that are right on the water, so if you are not careful you might be trespassing in someone's back yard. If the road runs right next to the lake then you can fish there.
  15. When I catch a nice one, I am pumped for the rest of day. Doesn't matter if I am still on the water or not.
  16. I bounced a spinnerbait off of a goose once. So far that has been my only encounter with a bird.
  17. That's the way to do it!
  18. Yes! Thank you, sir!
  19. This made me think of something that happened down at Bull Shoals maybe 35 or 40 years ago. We see this local old timer fishing out of a small boat near the mouth of a cove. Out in the center of the lake are some speed boats and jet skis. One of the boats decide to harass this guy who was fishing, so they start running in and out of the cove causing all kinds of waves to bounce his boat around. On the speedboat's third time into the cove, this old timer lifts up a shotgun and fires it up over the speedboat. Speedboat left and didn't come back.
  20. Few year back we were fishing a lake that is around 170 acres. We were anchored right over a creek bed, and catching bass on Rat-L-Traps. We see this boat maybe 100 yards off and it is coming straight towards us. Two people in the boat fishing. When he gets close to us he starts to slow down, and my first thought was that they needed help or something. This other boat is now passing us at no wake speed maybe 15 or 20 FEET away. My partner asked if we took their spot, and the reply was no. They just passed up, I guess they saw us catching and wanted to see what we were using.
  21. So far this summer the best colors have been shad, and firetiger.
  22. An Abu Garcia 5600 C3 on an old 6'6" heavy Daiwa rod. I was using a black jitterbug with 15 pound Big Game. I was reeling in as soon as the bait hit the water with no luck so I changed the retrieve up a bit. I cast out and let the jitterbug sit until the waves were gone around it. When I engaged the reel the bait moved a little and I had a new PB of 6-02 lb.
  23. You have some nice smallies right there!
  24. I have lost three over the years. One went into the lake, I lost the second one, and the third one got tossed into the washing machine and ruined.
  25. I don't even have to think about this one. It's a jig and craw.
