I usually try and look for something that the bass can hide behind around a dam that is blocking the current. Usually a rock pile, but every once in a while there will be a log jam piled up. Then all I have to do is find the bass.
  2. Some gift cards, a couple pair of sweatpants, and a new phone.
  3. Congrats on the new family member!
  4. Good practice for windy days.
  5. I remember when my wife and I had our engagement pictures taken that WHAM was playing in the background. RIP George.
  6. I usually will change baits and continue fishing in a spot where I have caught bass before. If they still won't bite I will move on to a new location.
  7. It was just a question on when.
  8. Jigs, plastic worms, and small swim baits.
  9. Congrats to him! That is an early Xmas present!
  10. I thought it was my phone glad I saw this!
  11. I have good luck this time of year with the small size sassy shad on a 1/8 ounce jighead.
  12. Nice job! Congrats!
  13. In between cleaning reels, sorting through tackle, and online shopping, I constantly check the weather to see when the lakes are going to thaw.
  14. A good December trip by the sound of it.
  15. This year I have caught catfish on crankbaits, jigs, and t-rigged plastics. Growing up I always heard that cat won't hit artificial baits, but now I know better.
  16. I have 3 Pflueger Presidents. I wouldn't have them if they weren't good.
  17. I cover as much water as needed until I find the bass. I will spend more time at a location that has a history of producing fish, but if they aren't biting I move on. Once I find the bass I'll stay at that spot until I stop catching them.
  18. I have a bunch of the old Mr. Twister sassy shads. They work great this time of year.
  19. For deep cranking, and larger crankbaits, I use a 7'0" MH rod. For shallow running crankbaits, and smaller crankbaits in general, I like a 6'6" M rod.
  20. I leave the split ring on. This time of year I use a duo lock snap, but in warmer weather I tie directly to the split ring.
