If I have a reel problem that I can't fix myself I take it to the local bait and tackle store. I also buy my replacement skirts there. They have a huge selection.

I put 15lb on my baitcasters, and 10lb on my spinning reels. The Ultralight gets 6lb. I don't have a lot to remember.

You might try a Google search and see if there are any second hand tackle stores around you. I had one by me for a few years that sold items on consignment.

I have caught them with the hook exposed and with the hook buried. I don't think it matters if the fish are in a biting mood.
