  1. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see something like that.
  2. I have kept one for about 11 years now. Before that I would write down on a calendar how many I caught on a trip. Log is much better.
  3. I bought one of those satchel style tackle bags for myself on Father's Day. Now when I walk the bank I can just take the boxes out of the boat bag and put them in the satchel.
  4. Strike King Bitsy Flip jigs. I don't feel bad when I loose one of those.
  5. I'll say what was said earlier. Try and fish open structure. You won't have to keep cleaning off your hooks, and the fish can see what is on the end of your line.
  6. Without knowing any specifics, I would bring a blue/black 3/8 jig with a matching trailer.
  7. That thing looks huge! Good Going!
  8. Go after bluegill and crappie.
  9. No way. I like my bass smell coming from real bass.
  10. I like to take a look at the water and the area while the sun is up. You never know when a storm has pushed a log around.
  11. Go night fishing. When it gets that hot here the fish turn off as soon as the morning sunlight hits the lake water.
  12. Several years ago I used roundup on some. Killed it dead in a couple of days after spraying it on. Don't burn it or chop it up. The oil is carried in the smoke and small pieces of the plant can be carried in the wind if chopped up.
  13. See if you can take the reel you will be using to the store where you will be buying the rod from, and try the reel out on different rods. That will give you an idea of how the total rig will feel.
  14. Depending on the lake I go to, it is either topwaters in morning and then plastics, or topwaters in morning and then jigs. The bass are starting to turn off of crankbaits.
  15. Mine was an old 5' rod that my Dad pulled out of the river. Never knew what make or model it was. Over the years it held a Zebco 33, and a Johnson Century.
  16. I have two presidents. Never had any issues with them.
  17. I like watching topwater action. Nice vid.
  18. Maybe around 2.
  19. If one doesn't work, I start using the other. I use them under the same conditions.
  20. Now that is how its done!
  21. I'd say in the past 15 years or so our DNR has gotten better at managing the lakes around here. Before that it was all about bringing people in to spend money. Now they are actually working on making some decent fisheries.
  22. Get two anchors. Drop one off each side of the boat. If you only have one anchor, stop the motor and see which end of the boat catches the wind the most. The lightest end should be pushed around the most. When the boat is turned so that it is going with the wind, drop the anchor. That way you won't be getting whipped around so bad when the wind gusts.
