When You Have An Awesome Fishing Trip With Many Bass Caught Do You?
I get on the computer and write down what happened in the fishing log. It's like reliving the day all over again.

I Fish Mainly For Bass. Other Fisherman???
I fish for bass unless I my daughter goes with me. Then it's panfish.

Enough Already! Come On Spring...
Cold front moved through the area yesterday. Temp right now is 32.

When Do You Change Your Senko?
When its so beat up that it won't stay on the hook any longer, and it can't be trimmed back, it becomes a jig trailer.
-
Crankbait Storage
For the cranks that I use on a regular basis, I put hook covers on them to keep the baits from getting scratched up, and keep them apart. For the cranks I find, or that I don't use, I put those in a box for storage. Two or three to a slot.
-
Casting Distances
I would say 20 to 30 yards depending on the conditions where I am fishing.

How Do You Rig Your Jig Trailer?
If the trailer is a chunk, then I poke the hook through the center. If the trailer is something bulky like a craw, I will either thread it like a plastic worm, or cut it in half and poke the hook through the back part.

Carp, And Why I Hate Them...
Had one swim into my line a couple of years ago and almost spooled my spinning reel before it got loose. That was quite a fight. I think the carp won.

What's The Shortest Casting & Spinning Rods You Use?
Spinning and baitcasting rods are all 6'6". The ultra light is 7'0".

Moving
Had the same thing happen when we moved from our apartment into our house. Next time I am hiring a moving company.

Selecting Jig Size
I usually start off with 3/8 and go from there. If I think the bait is not staying on the bottom, or if it is windy, I will up the size and see what happens. If I keep getting tangled in weeds, or not getting bites, I will downsize to a 1/4 or 1/8 ounce.

Keeping It Simple
Keep your colors simple. Start out with natural colors and go from there.

First Trip Of The Year
Went out Saturday morning and walked the bank on about a 20 acre lake. At first I found them around wood. I got 3 on a 1 minus running the bait parallel to sunken trees, and then I picked up 2 more with a bush hog next to stumps. Then the wind started. It was blowing around 20 mph with heavy gusts, then it would stop for a few minutes, and start up again. I walked around to the side of the lake that the wind was hitting and caught 5 more little ones on the 1 minus. I was throwing parallel to the bank, and over the tops of dead weeds. Never caught anything over a pound, but it felt good to feel some weight on the end of my line again.

We Are Blessed More Than We Know.....
Congrats!

Bubble Gum Worm
When the ice comes off the lake and all of the dead weeds are exposed, I like to use a bubblegum fluke right in the middle of them .

Top Secret Lures
My top secret lure is a Heddon Big Bud. Doesn't mean I use it though.
-
Jig Colors
The jig head matches the skirt on most of the jigs that I use. If I want to start with contrast then I put on a different color trailer.
-
Sharpie And A Crankbait
I use them all the time to color bullet weights.

Finally Got One
Good job! The first one of the year is always special.

Do All Anglers Fish Differently?
I have never seen two people fish exactly the same way. Don't try and master all the baits at once. Get good with one and move to a second type of bait. If your like me, you'll really get into some baits, but you're not going to care a lick for others.

I Can't Believe I Heard This
I have been going through my Dad's stuff slowly cleaning out his house. I finally found where his rods and reels were kept. I found his curado E7, and I got a good look at it. The rubber material is worn off the handle from so much use, you can see the frame under it. Other than that it is in good shape. After I get home I'm telling this to my wife, who does not fish. Her response was "pitch it". I think I blanked out for a second. I think I told her I can get a new handle, I'm not sure.
