  1. I'll drop in a baby brush hog, or a senko type bait. If they are not hitting any of those I will move on and come back to that spot later in the day.
  2. WTG on the new PB!
  3. Every once in a while I will throw out my back. It takes about a month to heal up, and during that time I can hardly bend or get in or out of the car. Went to the Dr. years ago with it and he said that there is nothing that they can do for it. It will just need time to heal. That being said, casting in itself does not hurt my back because I'm doing most of it with my shoulder and elbow. What does bother me is walking the bank on uneven surfaces. I do much better from a boat where I can sit down after a while and rest my back
  4. This year I think it will be a spinnerbait, or a rat-l-trap.

White flukes and white spinnerbaits always seem to work around here in stained to muddy water.
  6. I don't get a lot of bites when I use red worm hooks, but on cranks it doesn't seem to matter. I think the red hooks blend in with the crankbait color on the retreive.
  7. I have had turtles go after super flukes before. I kept getting short bites and when I got the flukes in about half of it would be missing. We finally saw the turtle and moved on out of its area.
  8. We have the same thing in a lake near my house. 99% of the bass will be under a pound, but look out for the 1%. That bass will be a 6 or 7 pounder.
  9. It has started here. We went from highs of 95 to highs of 75 in about 3 days.
  10. The only time I crank it down as tight as it will go is when I'm putting line on. Other than that I go by feel.
  11. For me the big problem is casting into and over things like tree limbs. If I am fishing at night I will always check out the area during daylight hours and make a note of where the low tree limbs are.
  12. Welcome from St. Charles!
  13. You had a good week off! Thanks for the pics.
  14. Congrats to her. Bass looks like a 3-1/2 to 4 pounder.
  15. I'm on my second Rapala scale with the hook. I hook the fish through the gill, but I don't do it if the fish is thrashing around.
  16. In the spring that is one of my go to baits. A junebug Superhog trailer on a 3/8 blue/black jig is deadly around here.
  17. I tie directly to the line except when I know I will be fishing a lot of crank baits. In that case I will have a snap on one of my rigs.
  18. I had to read that line a second time "inside plate glass walls". Sounds like one of the architects I work with. Come $%^& or high water, we're going to do it his way just because he's worried about aesthetics, and adding to his resume.
  19. Wow, good job! I can't remember the last time I caught 15 bass during one outing.
  20. Congrats! May you catch many more!
  21. Try leaving the boat at home for a while, or fish somewhere that is too small for a boat, like in a pond.
  22. I have a 1st gen revo-s, and have never had any problem with it. Seems to be a good solid reel.
  23. I tend to use co-poly, mono, and fluoro more than anything else now. About the only time I use braid anymore is if I am going to a lake that has a lot of vegetation in it. On local lakes, braid without a leader will spook the bass.
