  1. Try burning a rat-l-trap across the tops of the weeds, and nice bass!
  2. Two weeks! Those girls are going to miss you!
  3. When I go fishing I normally target LM, but If I catch a big cat, or a good crappie that is still a good day.
  4. Don't think of it as searching the water with plastics, or cranks. Think of the water in sections with each section having something in it that could hide a bass. Fish the ones with the highest probability of having bass in them first.
  5. Longest break because I just didn't feel like fishing was about 8 years. Longest break because of the weather has been about 3-1/2 months.
  6. The baitmonkey is playing with you. I would be very scared.
  7. When I'm fishing from the bank and get hung I tighten up the line, and slowly raise the rod tip up over my head. Most times this will bring the bait up over the snag if it is a tree or a limb.
  8. I like Strike King. I tend to lose a lot of jigs and SK doesn't break the bank.
  9. Good job! That is the first of many!
  10. I go for size, but if all I can catch are dinks, I will settle for that.
  11. Rod and reel no. I have lost a phone, knife, hat, etc....
  12. First time I was ever at Bull Shoals. I couldn't believe how clear the water was.
  13. Sounds like you guys had a blast! Thanks for the cool pics.
  14. <===== Black jitterbug about 6:05 AM. She weighed in at 6-2.
  15. When I first get out on the water I tend to think about fishing. After I'm on the water for a while my mind starts to wander.
  16. First off I would buy a license no matter where I was fishing. Secondly, If I was traveling on business I don't think my employer would like it if I snuck out to go fishing.
  17. I have a retreiver from BPS that gets used in deep water. If I am fishing in shallow water that's maybe 3' or 4' feet deep I will use a pole.
  18. Yikes! Not a good way to start the morning.
  19. I use to be the same way. I would get back from a trip and get on BR, and think why didn't I try that I bet that would have worked! First thing that helped me was writing down notes and taking them with me out fishing. Second thing was that I learned to calm down and not get excited if I couldn't get a bite. Third thing that l did was to spend more time on the water.
  20. You have some pigs right there!
  21. I have had problems with the coated lines before also. I would buy a spool of 250 yards in co-poly and fluoro and see which works better for you.
  22. I have used everything from a brush hog to a plastic worm for a trailer. If I am getting short strikes with a big trailer I put on the same type and color, but in a smaller size.
  23. I like to dead stick them around wood or outside of cover. If I fishing over weeds I'll let it sit on top of the weeds for a few seconds and twitch it. Natural colors in clear water, and white or pink in murky water works around here.
  24. Now its a jig and craw. When I first started fishing many moons ago it was a silvery colored Cordell big-o. That lure could catch fish anywhere.
