With Cabin Fever Approaching..
Do some honey do's around the house, get the reels cleaned, sharpen all of the hooks. I hate having a big project come along when the weather warms up.

Bass Fishing With A Bad Back.
Once in a great while I throw out my back and it takes roughly a month to heal up. When it happens I fish out of a boat. I just can't take walking on uneven surfaces.

Rating Fishing Equipment
I look for reviews from people that have used the product. Then I start looking to see if people are having the same problem or a bunch of different problems. You can tell pretty quick when a person has an actual gripe with something, or whether they are just venting because the product hasn't led up to THEIR expectations.

What Didn't You Know That You Should Have?
When I started working at my job 27 years ago I was very naive about company politics, and how thing work in the job place. According to what I learned in college this type of stuff wasn't suppose to happen. After surviving a boss that lied through his teeth, a boss that cheated his employees to make himself look good, and multiple layoffs, I think that I have wised up a little.

Do You Remember Your First Jig Fish???
Eight years ago I had been using some homemade jigs off and on all year without success. I would start off with a jig, and then switch to another bait when I didn't get bites. Then one Friday in October we went out and the bass were hitting on both cranks and plastics. I decided to start throwing some jigs to see what would happen. I figured that the way they were biting I should be able to catch one on a jig with no problem. After going through several different jig colors and sizes with no luck, I finally tied on a black 3/16 jig w/ a black chunk. I tossed it next to a gravel bar and POW a LM about a pound grabbed it. After that I was hooked on jigs. When I got the bass in the boat, my Dad asked me if I caught that on the firetiger crank I was throwing that day.

Cabelas And Bass Pro Shops Rods?
I have the BPS Tourney Special in a pistol grip, and a Bionic Blade that I use for casting crankbaits. I've never had any issues with them.

Fall Time...thinking Big???
The bass like to go after the 3/4 rat-l-traps around here. The LM will hit that size before they hit the 1/2 ounce.

From The Back Of The Boat.......
If your buddy is a boom and zoom fisherman then you won't be able to fish a slow presentation. From experience, your best baits are going to be crankbaits, jigs, and spinnerbaits. You want a bait where you can change the presentation without having to retie.

Fall Struggles
It slows down around here this time of year also. Try fishing around logs, or in grass. If your weather is unstable I would hold off going on the water until you get 2 or 3 days of the same type of weather.

Super Fluke Sub Surface
If you are using a EWG hook you can try putting a small split shot on the part of the hook that hangs down below the fluke.

Great Day Trout Fishing ..bad Day For The Gear
Earlier this year during one trip I lost 3 spinnerbaits, 2 jigs, and got backlashes in two reels that were so bad I had to cut out the line with a knife. Not one of my better memories.

Tackle Storage Without A Boat
I have two bigs bags that I keep in my basement. One is for plastics, and the other has crankbaits in it. When I am fishing from the bank I take a hard tackle box and fill it up from the other two bags. Some baits, like jigs, always go with me and other baits are seasonal.

How Do You Store Your Jigs?
Another 3700 box user here. I have my jigs organized by weight and color in rows and columns inside the compartments.

They Were Watching Me And Laughed
I had a day like that a couple of months ago. You could see the bass swimming around in and out of the hydrilla. When by bait would go by them they would just stop and stare at it until it was past them.
