I usually skin it, unless I am in very heavy weeds. If that is the case I keep the end of the hook inside the tube. I like a 2/0 ewg hook.

Spring, and summer were not the greatest for catching bass. I spent a lot of time fishing with my daughter for panfish. I missed most of the fall because of work. I was hoping to get out over the Christmas holidays and do some fishing, but unless it starts warming up, that ain't going to happen.

Let's see. Cold fronts, very windy days, people that leave trash out on the lake, and people that move their boats into the structure, or cover that I am fishing when they see me catch one.

My pres is on a 6-1/2' med. fast rod. Next to my old mitchell 300 it is the best spinning reel I have ever used.

I fish them t-rigged just like a jig. I like to use them more in heavy brush because I can get them through the cover easier without hanging up.

The best way to stay warm while fishing in winter is to catch a hawg. Nice bass.

I don't care for the new style. It reminds me of the new Toyota Camry.

Either a jig or a tube. It depends on what the cover and structure is like.

Is this the same for heavily fished lakes that have a lot of pressure from anglers? I don't necessarily target bedding bass, but if I find a one I will throw a jig at it. I have seen many bass that will ignore the bait but will continue to chase off bluegill and other fish that come close to it.

I don't have any problem casting 1/4 baits with my 4600, but I don't go lighter than that. That is what my spinning reel is for.

I know what you are going through. Three years ago, when I had shoulder surgery I was getting detailed fishing reports from the guys I work with. What finally did me in was when my Dad asked me to go fishing with him and sit in the boat. He wanted me to take pictures when he caught a bass.

Black and blue jig. Craw or chunk trailer depending on the time of year. In the past 9 years I have caught more on jigs than anything else.

1. Fish in areas that are known to have big bass. 2. Slow down the bait and work cover, and structure from all sides. 3. Get more time on the water. More time on the water increases your chances of a hawg.

This time of year I have had pretty good luck with jigs, small plastic worms, and tubes. I try and fish in grass and weeds. If I can find some hydrilla down in deep water I will be casting a weedless worm right into it.

Around here bass in the four pound range are in about every small lake and pond. Five pounders and up are more of a rarity.

I would go for a curado, or a revo.

I like Owner, Gamakatsu, and the ones from BPS. I use #2, #3, or #4 EWG depending on what size plastic I am using.

I had two this year. One was a small lake that wasn't consistant, but I did get my biggest of year out of it. The second was a pond that I started fishing in the fall. I didn't get a lot of big ones, but I got a ton of little ones that wanted to fight.
