My goals include stuff like learning new ways to work baits, trying to get more time on the water, and finding new water to fish. I try and stay away from the idea that more expensive equipment will make me a better fisherman. I see a lot of people on the lake with pricey rigs that can't cast straight.

I use cheap mono. I don't get the weight issue. How much lighter can braid be over mono?

I always check my tackle before I leave the house to make sure I didn't forget anything.

When you take taking the pieces out of the reel, lay them down in the order that you take them off. I like to do one section at a time, that way I don't have those little parts all over the place.

I wouldn't use a leader. I use mono and copoly line a lot of the time. I've never had a muskie cut through the line, but I have had them ruin a few baits. As stated above, a leader may spook off the bass.

I would like to get another Shimano reel and a longer mh rod. At least one that is 7' long. That would be my dedicated pitching and flipping rig.

I have ordered from TW a few times, but never during Christmas. I've never had any problems at all.

This year it has been Fluke Jig and craw Senko Spro Frog Baby brush hog.

Using the drop shot rig more than I do. I start off with it and usually switch over to a t-rig, or a c-rig.

After you get the line on the reel take it out and cast it a few times. If the line continues to pile up on one side replace the pawl.
