Bass Fishing Sad Moments / Horror Stories
One time when I was little, my Dad and I drove for about 1-1/2 hours to get to this lake that he liked. When it was time to leave we had started putting stuff back in the car and my Dad realized that he didn't have his keys. Well we tore that car apart looking for the keys and couldn't find them. Just so happened that we were bank fishing. Earlier I had gone back to the car for something, and forgotten to give Dad his keys back. When we finally got home Mom was worried to death and about ready to call the police.

How Far Do You Travel To Fish?
The drive time to the nearest lakes around me are about 5 min., 15 min., and 30 min. However, those lakes have very heavy fishing pressure. A trip down to the Ozarks, depending on the lake I am going to, takes anywhere from about 2 hrs to 5 hrs.

Home Modernization
Had the same thing happen a couple of years ago when we wanted to get the house painted. IMO, If they don't call back in a reasonable amount of time, they don't get my business.

Breaking Rods Too Often
I have broken a rod by reeling the fish up to close to the rod tip. One good run, and the rod is broken. Now I lip them.

Bps Bionic Blade Rod
I use a Bionic blade for my cranks, and spinnerbait fishing. Very durable, and well made rod, IMO.

How To Avoid "snaggage" In Deep Water Brush Piles?
Having good electronics, or just being able to see the snags help a lot. If you see that the bait is going into a snag, stop reeling for a sec and let the bait float up about a foot. You'll miss that snag and maybe trigger a bite.

Bass Resource On Facebook
Don't have a Facebook or twitter account...yet. A lot of my friends have told me that once the kids start college they need an account. They tell me that's how the schools send out info to the students.

Discontinued Lures That Are A Big Part Of Your Arsenal.
Not so much the lures, but the colors. I used to have a silvery white crank that would catch them when nothing else would.

Bass Watching Bedding Bluegills?
The bass are waiting for one of the bluegill to get careless. I think it is kind of like when lions watch their prey, and the prey can see the lions.

Most Expensive Lure You've Lost
Not me, but one time my Dad lost quantity which added up in cost. He was fishing with mono, and snagged a lure about 10' out from the bank. I guess he thought he could pull the hung lure off of what it was hung on. After breaking the line and tying on a new lure, he hooked the lure that was hung with a second lure. Lost the second lure also. He ended up with 4 or 5 baits all tangled together about 10' off the bank. Problem was there was a pretty good drop off so he was in hung up in deep water, and couldn't reach the lures. I still kid him about that one from time to time.

I always download my pics to the computer. I'm afraid that I will lose, or break the phone, then no more pics. I just use window paint to resize and save them.

I Finally Learned My Lesson
Had my rod sitting on some rip rap one day while catfishing, and one started to pull it in. I ran across the rip rap, got my pole before it went in, but did a job on my knee on the rocks. Couldn't walk on it or bend it for about 10 days. Always use a rod holder!!

Paranormal Experiences
I had one when I was a little kid, but I will post this one because I don't want to freak myself out, and be jumpy all day. There use to be a radio show here in town, and every halloween they would broadcast from a real haunted house. One year there was a loud banging coming over the radio, and the station cut to a commercial. When they came back from the commercial the host of the show was saying that the station was picking up what sounded like a grandfather clock in the background and that they should move away from it from the rest of the show. The host then went on to say that the people that were actually broadcasting from the haunted house had not heard a thing. Right after that about two dozen people called in to say that they had heard the clock.
