  1. My most certain and consistent hook-ups with a tube have come from a hook point exposed rigging. Most of the retrieves listed above have been effective. oe
  2. In the right places a slow steadily retrieved jerkbait can bring some nice sized walleye to hand... oe
  3. Various labels within the Fenwick family... so I guess just one. oe
  4. OP... there is more than just the blade configuration that makes the Booyah Covert spinnerbait a good tool. oe
  5. Be comfortable... trade it. oe
  6. Curious as to the water clarity you fish? oe
  7. This is often the problem... Both Brewer's slider fishing and Kehde's Ned rig fishing are about the technique, not the tackle. oe
  8. Even though the guards are often fewer and softer, I occasionally cut 1/3 of them off. When fishing swim jigs over coverless structure I cut the guards completely off. oe
  9. For most of my fishing I use the 6:?:1 ratio, however, I want a 5.?:1 spinning reel hanging from the rod I use for very lightly weighted plastics and hair. oe
  10. hmmm... thought I'd find some small duo-lock snaps and put them to use on my hard bait rod (jerk baits, top water, lipless cranks, ect.). oe Will you be fishing fewer jig worms, aka. Ned rigs? oe
  11. Complete cleaning... 1 time each year. Clean & re-lube the spool bearings... several times each season. oe

  13. Bronze hooks can open somewhat easily both pulling free of snags and fighting large fish such as musky, catfish, carp, ect. I purposely open them very slightly when kirbing the point. I can't remember losing a bass due to a bronze hook opening though. oe
  14. Thought I'd add some "dual lock" snaps to an online order... seems there are at least a dozen brands to choose from. Which brand "dual lock" "duo lock" snaps do you prefer and what size(s) do you use? (If you didn't notice, I'm only interested in the traditional "dual lock/ duo lock" variety.) oe
  15. ...sometimes you just need a friend to talk it out with. oe
  16. Victorinox alox Cadet is my everyday carry... Swiss Army 7 alox my outdoor yard, garden, fishing carry. oe
  17. Just so I know who I might be emulating... who does Fenwick sponsor? oe
  18. My Christmas wish to you is that you are spending a wonderful day with your family! oe
  19. My opinion... line diameter has a greater affect on visibility than color of line. oe
  20. Cut the leading hook off the front treble... and keep the rod tip high as Cgolf suggests above. oe
  21. Think of it as braid. I didn't like it on baitcasting reels... I have used the original Fireline on my spinning reels since the mid '90s. oe
  22. not used as a lubricant, but to break up any developing rust and clean "gunk" from the hinge.
  23. ...but easy. Using it a couple times each season does work. oe
  24. If rusty pliers are a problem, introduce yourself to a jar of Naval Jelly. A couple times each season spray your pliers' joint with WD40. oe
  25. The "brain" of a bass is the size of a pea. In my opinion, a bass doesn't have a "mind". oe
