  1. 30' - 35'... because that's as deep as I'll fish for them. oe
  2. I guess I'd be looking for someone to build me 3 custom rods... oe
  3. Thanks for this link. I'll give them a call and see if they have any "normal" colors... oe
  4. Hydro tail grub has only one color available... I've been fishing it for several years. Looking for more. oe
  5. Somebody please provide me with a link to a 4" ribbed (ringed) body curly tail grub... Thanks oe
  6. I like to "grease" the hook bend when I T-rig a soft plastic bait. It provides a benefit to my light line use by reducing the hook setting force I need. oe
  7. Let's get beyond the collections of reels that adorn many of your man cave shelves and admit to which reels are actually rigged ready for your next bass fishing trip whether it be by bass boat, kayak or foot... I keep 7 reels rigged on my boat, 3 Abu Cardinal 802 spinning reels; 2 Morrum SX 1601C mags; 1 Revo Premier (2nd gen); 1 Shimano Chronarch 51e. One of the Cardinal 802s and either the Premier or Chronarch come along when using my canoe or float tube. A single Cardinal 802 accompanies me when bank fishing. Occasionally all 7 boat reels get used on the same trip, most often 4 -5. oe
  8. There are several books I re-read each winter, two I haven't seen listed yet... "The Last Smallmouth" and "Tony Bean's Smallmouth Guide" both authored by Tony Bean. Another good read not many people will be able to find: "The Scientific Angler" by Paul Johnson who was Keith Jones' predecessor at Berkley. oe
  9. Unweighted t-rigged fluke oe
  10. I don't know what a tig welder is... I'm not even looking to have it smooth, this canoe already has the snot beat out of it! oe
  11. I own an older, well beat up aluminum canoe that now has a tiny pin hole in the hull. I plan to duct tape the hole on the inside as a backing and rub a little J-B Weld on the outside of the hole. Who can offer a better plan to fix the pin hole? Thanks oe
  12. I don't remember a larger one. oe
  13. I've still got 4-5 unopened Frenzy Poppers. It's my popper of choice and I have one in my tackle bag with me always. The lipless Frenzy is OK and I've got several, but not head & shoulders better than others on the market today. I wish Berkley would bring the popper back into production... or maybe since I've got a supply that most other anglers don't I shouldn't wish that! oe
  14. Fish the one you bought... it's a good popper. oe
  15. Brewer jig heads have had this attribute since the 1970's... oe
  16. Berkley Lightning Rod or Shakespeare Ugly Stick... oe
  17. As long as the fish is released without harm, the pic is for you and I don't care how you take it. oe
  18. So... put in a set of hybrid ceramic bearings and it becomes better than a Curado? oe
  19. Why don't you buy the Citica I and report back your comparison findings... oe
  20. some research topics: new vs. used fiberglass vs. aluminum (rivets vs. welded) console vs. tiller size needed for lakes to be fished availability of service
  21. Red!... H*ll no. Give me some black & gold! oe
  22. Paint = more weight oe
  23. TSI 321 on bearings after cleaning... then after a day or so, I add one drop of yellow Rocket Fuel or Berkley's oil if I need to slow or smooth them. oe
  24. Appropriate advice above... keep adequate tension on the line. Use the bow in the rod to provide the tension and give you a visual cue how much tension is being maintained. A medium power, medium fast to fast rod is plenty of rod to land average to above average bass and will provide a deeper bow. Take your time playing the bass and maintain that deep bow of the rod into the net. There, you have everything I can bring to the subject from my dementia riddled mind. Did I mention it's all about keeping the bow in the rod?... oe
  25. Since I don't know your age, I'm unable to give you appropriate counsel. oe
