  1. I'm not a Colts fan, but I love to watch them play because of Peyton Manning. I hate that his streak is going to end this week, but am so impressed by his attitude. This guy always seems to say the right thing. Here's a quote off of ESPN: "To say I am disappointed in not being able to play is an understatement. The best part about football is being out there on the field playing with my teammates. It will be tough not to be out there playing for the organization and our fans. I simply am not healthy enough to play, and I am doing everything I can to get my health back. The team will do fine without me, and I know for sure that I will miss them much more than they will miss me." I hope he's back soon!
  2. Sam, you were all over Irene, predicting it would impact the east coast long before our local weather guys down here in NC started talking about it. What do your sources say about this next storm? By the way, because of your forecasting of Irene, I was able to get prepared for her arrival on Tuesday, then help some other families who waited until the last minute on Friday. Thanks!
  3. Electricity was just restored to my community this evening. We got hit hard. Huge trees down in just about every yard, light lines and transformers down in all the roads, most roads were blocked by big trees immediately after the storm, other roads blocked by flooding, several houses had trees demolish them, most houses had at least some minor damage (like our leaky roof). But, all in all, we are very blessed! Not a single fatality in our county (as far as we know right now)! Thanks for your prayers.
  4. That's great.....except I live in North Carolina!
  5. I wish you could work your magic and lock this hurricane down!
  6. That's crazy! The exact thing happened to about a dozen of my Facebook friends this week! It is one of the funnier things I've heard in a while.
  7. Awesome, man! Glad you got him.
  8. Are you required to use steel shot? If not, what is the advantage over regular ol' cheap lead shot?
  9. Come on Grundie, you're as transparent as a teenage girl. Not impressed, yet opened and posted in an "Earthquake" thread on a fishing forum? Yea right! You don't have to admit that you hid under your kitchen table until the shaking stopped, but at least don't be a buzzkill for the rest of us that find the biggest earthquake for this area in our lifetimes a little interesting.
  10. I don't know anything about car speakers, but I like the camo bedspread!
  11. Hey, Grundle Do you have kids? Just wondering...
  12. Sounds like it's time to have a nice, calm, civil conversation with grandma, and explain to her the moral standards that you want your son to be raised by. If that nice, calm, civil conversation dosn't work, you might have to explain to her that any involvement she has in his life is a privilidge, not a right. If that dosn't work, supervised visits only.
  13. I'll help in any way I can.
  14. I don't know that I'd ever heard of her until she was found dead. But, I listened to the first youtube video above, and she was certainly talented. Her death is unfortunate, but hopefully it can serve as a preventative lesson to those who are considering drug use.
  15. I run a few 5Ks, and have entertained the idea of a half, but would be coming in about half an hour after you finished your 1:30!
  16. I'm a runner! There's nothing like a peaceful early morning run before the world gets going.
  17. Delayed gratification.
  18. Congrats man! That sounds fun!

So, you got a tatoo of a fish because you almost got kicked out of school for being poor? Well.....I'm sure spending money on a tatoo helped keep you that way for a little bit longer!
  20. It's funny you mention crawfish. When I was froggin', I came across a guy's crawfish traps. I didn't even pull them up to see if he had caught any. I simply prayed, "Lord, lead me not into temptation!" A few crawfish would have been a great appetizer.
  21. The Moccasin was pretty good. I just fried it with the frog legs and roe, in an iron skillet with olive oil (no breading). I'd never heard of anyone eating it either, but the meat was so white I figured it had to be good. It was, there just wasn't enough of it!
  22. Sautéed squash, onions, and green peppers; Cucumbers with a dash of vinegar and pepper; Corn on the cob; A few pan fish, a little bit of fish roe, several pairs of frog legs, and a water moccasin. Everything but the onions were grown in my garden, caught on my hook, or killed by yours truly. There's just something about putting supper on the table that makes it taste a little better.

  24. Kvd

I think the way KVD handles winning is what keeps people from vilanizing him. He's a nice guy, who love bass fishing, loves winning, loves his wife and children, loves his fellow competitors, loves his fans, loves his sponsors, and loves sharing information about how he "catches little green fish." What's not to like about him? I'm sure a lot of people would love to see someone else win the AOY or the Classic, but that comes more from cheering for other anglers, not cheering against KVD. Everyone bass fisherman likes that guy.
