  1. Ray Scott (who is the father of catch and release bass fishing) said, in an article a few years ago, that if someone caught the world record bass, they should keep it instead of releasing it. In my opinion, the same thing goes for a state record. I know if I caught the NC record, folks would just have to talk junk about me, because that thing would be hanging on my wall! Congratulations to the lucky angler!
  2. Took my two year old daughter to a little pond this evening with her Barbie fishing pole, and she caught her first fish! That was one of the proudest moments of my life. She lasted about 10 minutes, and caught 4 bream. When her Papa asked her how many fish she caught, she replied (in true fishergirl fashion), "5 fish!" I don't know what makes me prouder, that she caught the fish, or the fact that she already knows how to exaggerate when telling a fishing story!
  3. It's a portable, versatile, and evidently, an undependable boat. They fold up.
  4. Here's a solution: Find a job you absolutely love. Then, when you're called, you will want to go to work!
  5. Great post Rhino! And, while we're on the topic of safety: WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!! I know, I know, your best friend's grandmother's, boyfriend's, cousin's, dog walker was killed 25 years ago while wearing a seatbelt, and you've got a tingly little feeling in your tummy that tells you she would have survived if she hadn't been wearing it. But, I've helped cut people out of cars that were totally destroyed, but the people survived with only minor injuries because of the seatbelt and airbags. On the other hand, we've had DOAs at wrecks that "wern't that bad" because they didn't buckle up. WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!! The chances are much greater of you surviving a bad crash with your seatbelt on.
  6. Oh! I hadn't thought of getting jumped. Maybe ya'll should be looking at mini-vans and pick-up trucks instead of "HOOPDEE" rides! The clientele will be much safer!
  7. Sorry for your losss, Sean. Praying for you and your family.
  8. How can you get scammed on CL if you don't exchange cash for product until you meet in person? This is how I've always done business on CL, and have had good luck. There might be a way to get scammed, but I'm not aware of it.
  9. By "playing the game the way it is meant to be played" do you mean the Raiders winning a few games every now and then?
  10. It's funny that you mention $5000 and CASH, because my wife and I only pay cash for our vehicles, and the limit we will spend of a car/truck is $5000. We have been able to find nice, dependable vehicles for that price. My wife drives a 2005 Chrystler Town and Country with all the bells and whistles, and I drive a 2004 4-door 4x4 Tacoma. We found both of those on Craig's list. They both have high mileage (150k & 250k respectively), but we haven't had any major problems with them in the 2 years we've owned them. And, even if we do have to spend a few hundred dollars on them (or even a couple of thousand) in the near future, that's still just a few payments on a new one. Good luck in your search. If you don't give up too quickly, you'll probably find a great car/truck for the right price!
  11. Do you opperate that boat often?
  12. ESPN is reporting that there might be a snag in the wording of the contract that would void this deal. This has been one dramatic day in the NFL!
  13. Mr. Goodell don't play. What do ya'll think? Does the punishment fit the crime, or is it too harsh?
  14. We see right many down here. We duck hunted about a quarter mile down the swamp from a nest this year. We knew they were in the area, but the first morning they (a female and an adolesent) broke over the trees they were flying the same route as the ducks we were hunting. As soon as we saw what they were, the guns went in our laps, and we watched them (and the ducks we were hunting) fly around for about 5 minutes. No duck is worth messing up a chance to see a couple of eagles flying around.
  15. I MAY HAVE BEEN THE LAST PERSON IN THE WORLD WHO DIDN'T KNOW WHO JUSTIN BIEBER WAS. AND, WHEN I FINALLY HEARD OF HIM, I THOUGHT HIS NAME WAS "BEAVER" FOR THE LONGEST TIME.
  16. Glenn, I like this new series of posts. Can tomorrow's theme be: Of all the smells you've ever smelt, have you ever smelled a smell that smelt like the smell I smelt smelled? Hey, Long Mike, can you check my grammar/spelling on that one!?
  17. That's good raising right there! We've been following that story on the news.....one of the saddest I've heard in a while.
  18. Awesome news! Will continue to pray.
  19. There's not a lot of difference in the money. Choose the job you like the best, and that you think will benefit your future (not just financially). Chances are, if you find a job you love, it will lead to more money anyway.
  20. Dat 'dem dirty, dirty Saints. What do ya'll think the penalty(s) should be? Personally, I'd strip them of their Super Bowl win and give it to the Cowboys!!!
  21. I might give it a shot this year.
  22. Some sort of game that I hun has been in season here in eastern NC since September 1st (Goose, Dove, Duck, Squirrel, or Deer). The last of the seasons (squirrel) ended today. I'm not a turkey hunter, so it's time to get busy in the garden until goose and early teal comes back in on September 1st. Anyone else go through hunting withdrawls?
  23. I'm sure they have foam on some of the BRTs, but it was funny watching the NASCAR officials trying to put it out!
