Doubtful. The actual item description is a Revo which is sort of an item title mis-description itself. It should be the Revo S. What's worse is the description itself was taken right off the Garcia website with a sales pitch for the entire Revo line vs. the reel you're buying. Confusing? Yes.

carpet glue
Contact cement is more expensive than regular outdoor carpet glue. If you already have that kind of quantity than go ahead. When I re-carpet I normally use Henry's carpet glue to cover large flat surfaces like floors, compartment lid tops and flat deck area's. I use contact cement for verticle surfaces, lid edges, corners, small pieces, etc. It's much easier to work with and you get a sure bond once the glue starts to set up.

If I was going to be in the KC area I'd definitely be trying out Mozingo. I understand Smithville can be one tough mutha.

Places to stay on Table Rock Lake
There are a ton of resorts on that lake that vary in price from the uber "Big Cedar lodge" right down to the old Mom and Pop joints. Just know that prices are generally higher the closer you are to the dam due to it's proximity to Branson and Silver Dollar city. Probably the best arm of the lake to fish is the James River arm though it does tend to get the most fishing pressure. You can find some better bargains up around the Shell Knob area. Leave your Florida gear behind. This lake has become drop shot city over the years. It's pretty much finesse gear much of the year except in the spring. Also, don't forget the great Smallmouth fishing this lake offers. You're best chances for smallies are from Campbell Point Boat dock down to the dam. Some of the best is between Indian point and Kimberling City. If you're going to be spending that that much time on the lake I'd definitely suggest getting a guide for a day to help familiarize yourself with the lake and fishing methods and seasonal patterns. It can be a really tough lake for first timers.

What's in your rod locker?
By keeping a regular eye out on a number of the bass fishing forums along with Ebay you can get NIB or nearly new reels and rods for half the price. I've managed to assemble around $2200 worth of reels alone for only $1100. In rods, $2050 for right around $1000. Paying list price for anything is crazy.

Unions can certainly have good points, especially these days. Mostly as far as workers rights. In many states, if a new boss walks in that turns out not liking you, he can systematically target you and either make things so bad you'll quit or he'll fire you. I've seen it happen. That would never happen if said worker was under a union contract. Unfortunately, that's about as far as I see the plusses of union membership vs. non go. Unions stifle increased productivity and creativeness by basing everything on tenure on the job. It's all for one and one for all. A person working for a company for 2 years has no incentive to do any more than the same person working for the company 20 years. They're both locked into pay/benefit structures via the unions contract with the company. Whether the 2 year guy is more creative, brighter or more productive, come layoff time he goes first. Come raise time he gets no more than any of this other workers within his/her tenure ranking. Since most union companies wage scales are structured within these seniority systems, workers can never move into higher pay wage scales unless it's written into a contract. They can work their arse off and be a positive contributer to the company but it gets them nothing as far as increased monetary compensation for that performance. There's more. The creation of job classifications that don't allow you to do a certain job outside your classification despite the fact you're perfectly capable of it. It's done as a way to protect workers and prevent multi-tasking which could conceivably put some workers out of jobs. Example. You're an EMT. If you were unionized there may be a classification that wouldn't allow just anyone to administer life saving procedures on infants. An infant specialist would be tasked with this even though you may be perfectly capable of doing the job. Now imagine you're on a call and an infant needs an emergency trache tube inserted. Suppose an infant specialist didn't come along on the call. Obviously you would perform the procedure yourself but a union shop steward would file a grievance with the company after the call was over because an infant specialist didn't perform the procedure. The company would be penalized $$. Of course, the number of infant specialist available is spelled out in the union contract. They also make more money. The company, in an attempt to save themselves expenses, limits the number of infant specialists available.

Bought a couple new reels on sale at BPS last weekend
That looks like an older Pro Qualifier QX-10 that BPS put out a few years ago. I seem to recall they only had that model for a single season and it was sold under limited quantities and specials. It didn't have the swept handle on it though. I had one, used it for a season. It was a nice reel, no problems. BPS is known to re-introduce reels that are several years old and rebrand them or add some things to make them appear as a new model. The best example is the latest Johnny Morris Sig Gold reel. It's actually an older reel design that was out some 4 years ago. Last season they were selling it as the JMX 10HP, same reel as the gold one. It was a good reel, the centrifugal brake worked well.

BPS Extreme Baitcaster
The only version listed is their 20 series wide spool at 6.4:1. I haven't heard where a wide spool version of the extreme with 7.1 will ever be offered.

I've also worked in a union at one time. The IAM when I worked at McDonnell Douglas, now Boeing. I saw those ranking, high seniority guys sitting on their back sides sleeping far too often. They were some of the least productive workers in the plant. Mostly because they knew they couldn't be touched. In fact, the seniority system is probably one of the worst things that came out of unionizing. Pay raises should be earned by merit, not how long you've been hanging around a place of work. Monetary raises provide incentive to increase productivity, guaranteed raises via unions do nothing to help a company become more efficient nor make more money.

A typical person hired at GM or Ford at 20 years old can work for 30 years and then retire at age 50. He's eligible for around $1500 month pension payment along with paid health insurance for that person and their spouse. They get this until age 62 when SS and medicare kick in. If some company offered me a job with that kind of benefit I'd have to think they were crazy or I was in some never-never land dream. It was a backward pyramid scheme basically. The sucking sound you hear is the money leaving the big 3 and going towards retirees. If they're forced to go to bankruptcy, those UAW contracts get tossed out the door. The workers will wind up getting far less in pay, will have to pay for part of their health insurance and the retiree health benefits will probably be frozen or partially eliminated. It would be better off to settle now vs later. A bankruptcy judge won't be so kind.

Giving them money is meaningless unless they and the unions can get costs under control. To be fair, I've seen where the average hourly pay for a UAW worker at the big 3 is around $30 an hour. For Toyota, it's the same. It's the other costs (healthcare and legacy costs to the retirees) that are killing them. http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=39499 and here's just one example of the abuse to the bottom line GM is currently burning through $2 billion a month in loss. $15 billion, if it all went to them, would last 7 1/2 months. The UAW doesn't want to budge from their contract until 2011. As a taxpayer I have no intention of paying to support the auto workers unless the workers at said companies start making radical changes to their pay and benefit structure making those companies more competitive. NOW not 2-3 years from now. The parties over fella's.

I've got a DeWalt 12v cordless drill I've had for quite some time. It's been a good friend and works outstanding. A couple guys have picked up the new Makita 10v model drills recently for work. You get 2 for $150. One is a regular, the other an impact. Amazingly light is all I can say. I'm thinking of getting a pair myself.- Flippin switch VS. twitchin bar
They're 2 completely different things. The flippin switch is nothing more than a way to re-engage the reel from free spool without turning the handle. Reel manufacturers handle that in a couple different ways. The twitchin bar is a way to incrementally reel in slack line without turning the handles.- Financial Future
It was posted many years ago in the St Louis Post Dispatch newspaper. The example was pretty stunning showing the year by year growth of the persons original $16k investment ($2,000 a year from age 18-26). It didn't say where to invest only how the initial outlay would grow to $1,000,000 by age 65 merely earning a typical 10% yearly interest. It also showed how the guy that started at 30 investing $2000 a year every year till 65 could never catch up. He was Close though. 10% may be a stretch but remember, the initial investment was only $16,000 over 8 years and then he stopped. Pick a good investment consultant, keep investing that $2k a year (tax deductable if it's a Roth IRA) and you could easily hit the same mark even with a lower return. You could do the same thing with some simple math. Take $2000, add a reasonable interest rate say 6%, That's $2120 at the end of year one. Year 2, add $2k invest = $4120, now figure year 2 interest total = $4366. Year 3 add $2k invest = $6366, interest add = $6747 and so on and so on.- Pflueger President (New/Old)

I'd ask how deep the snow was but there's no way you could've extended your measuring stick out past about 1 inch. - Is it possible to have too many drills?
