new rod
Less flex in the tip down on the extra fast vs the fast. I've got a 6'6" All Star Platinum med/ex fast that I use for throwing plastic worms in open water, spider type jigs, chomper baits and other small plastics. You could easily throw a senko with the thing if you wanted. Might be tough to toss the 3" ones though. You could also use the thing for spinnerbaits.

BPS Extreme BC reel
I bought 2 of them new. I'm not a big fan of the color green though. You can find a bunch of Extreme limited edition reels on ebay that are silver. I don't know if they're the same reels as the green ones. I still have one left that I use on my flippin rod since it has a flippin switch. One thing I did notice though, it's a good idea to pull handle plate off and lube the thing when you buy one. At the very least, remove that little access door on the bottom of the reel which allows you to grease the main gear. For some reason they seem to scrimp a little on lube and I had to lube both reels not long after using them the first time. Especially the main and pinion gears.

At less than 250 miles away I'm pretty sure I'll be there. I've got vacation days saved for it anyway.

You say you don't want to spend $10,000 but you don't say what you want to spend. Kinda hard to steer you in the right direction without a $$ amount.- B.A.S.S. boats?
I have a feeling that Stratos has shifted it's line towards more entry level type boats with less of a connection to tournament fishermen than they've had in the past.- World Fishing Network HD now available on DISH Network!
I just got Direct TV a few months ago. I was getting the outdoor channel for most of that time. Suddenly one day the channel was blacked out. It said the trial time was over and I'd have to purchase the addtional programming to get it. I checked it out, $10 a month for outdoors and a bunch of sports channels I have absolutely no interest in . >- Pedestal Seat Options
You're basically referring to the pin type pedestal bases. With the threaded type, the pedestal is less likely to come out if you're bouncing down a rough lake. In fact, they can have a tendency to seize themselves into the base if they're not removed regularily and the threads and base cleaned. The straight pin type are easy to remove but have been known to pop out on a rough ride across the lake or going to the lake with the boat on the trailer. The unthreaded pin type can also experience wear on the bushing in the base over time making the thing wobbly.- Anybody else having trouble receiving Bassmaster Magazine??
I was a member since 1974. Said screw it last year. It was the same rehashed, recycled stuff over and over.- Rick Ankiel
I'd be happy if they tried out some left field Khoury leaguers. ;D- Anyone buy a Tracker from BPS?
I would advise buying from a Tracker dealer and not BPS themselves.- Oldie's But Goodies ???
Oh yeah!! Right there is a good bait. Forgot that one myself. Along with the RC1's.- Rick Ankiel
Is it any wonder why he would have those meltdowns on the mound and start throwing the ball 10 feet over the catchers head and into the backstop netting? ;D Seriously, the kid always had a rocket launcher for an arm. It's a shame he couldn't make it as a pitcher, he'd be a 20 game winner easy. I guess he wasn't scouted right. Glad to see his arm and bat taking care of business these days. Good, likeable kid and a great story of a ball player re-inventing himself.- Lake of the Ozarks
Once the trees start pollenating and the moss starts growing along the spawning banks I usually switch to a C-rigged French Fry type lure, a sluggo, Gitzit or a plastic worm. Sounds like the lake is finally getting back to it's normal routine. Wish I could've been there this spring. That Wiggle wart bite is da bomb.- New boat question/problem
While it's not unusual for any boat to porpoise at some point in it's power band depending on loads, for a boat to do it throughout the entire range indicates there's something very, very wrong. Good luck.- using regular indoor/outdoor carpet for decking??
Here's a few words of advice from someone who's carpeted a bunch of boats. The job is fairly time consuming if you want it to come out looking good. The last thing you want to do is have to tear up the carpet you just put down within the past few years because it wasn't suited for the job and that you were in a hurry to get it done. As already stated. Unless you keep the boat indoors when not in use and thoroughly clean it every time you use it the stuff you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes really isn't suited for fishing and boat carpeting. Fish hooks and that type of carpeting don't see eye to eye. You'll wind up snagging the stuff, then pulling the hooks free which leads to runners and pretty soon the carpet job looks bad. Order some real marine carpet, you'll thank yourself.- Oldie's But Goodies ???
Jitterbug Ditto's Gator tail worms Sluggo's Lunker Lures Rex Spoon buzzers Gitzit tubes Uncle Bucks in-line buzzer- Please read this about Rolands new Rods
No offense intended b-u-t, Roland is on your payroll so to speak. Roland has a little history of endorsing some real boners in the past. ie: The Helicopter lure and the latest, that kids bazooka fishing rod.- More speed?
About right yes. Those 360 - 370 series boats were lead sleds.- Kyle Busch
Looked like one of them thar racin deals to me. Jr's Dad did the same thing many, many times throughout his career. I'm surprised the Jr fans are getting themselves all knotted up about it. BTW, what the heck was up with Michael Waltrip anyway? Talk about putting someone in the wall! ;D- Repainting fiberglass bass boat
As Ronnie said, boat hulls are a different animal than a vehicle. With a car you sand down to the metal, primer then paint then clearcoat. With a boat, there's nothing to sand down to but fiberglass. Not exactly a smooth surface to work from. You can paint a hull but just know that the end results will be vastly different than what a vehicle's final look would be. First off, just how bad is the condition of the gelcoat now? Can you feel the metal flake through the existing gelcoat? You may have other options. I'd suggest posting a few pictures of your currents boat finish, there might be other methods to salvage the hull surface besides painting.- Bill Dance In Florida?????
Let me just say this DON'T talk down to me you don't know me! Frist off I did not say that Bill was not good. He has alot of good tips that have helped me along. I know alot of Pro's ,that know Bill and they say what you said. I did meet Bill a Few times and he is great. All I did mean is that his TV Shows are done on his lakes, and that it was nice to see him fish somewhere else. I have the upmost respect for Bill Dance! And before Bill started fishing the phosphate lakes he fished regular old lakes like you and me. And guess what? He caught fish there too. I love to watch Bill fish period. The guy single handedly taught me how to fish plastic worms. When you realize his show has been on the air for probably 35 years, it's not hard to realize he likes to take shortcuts. He knows people want to see fish caught on a fishing show. He also takes the time during each show to teach something about bass behavior. Not what lure he's pitching this week but something about bass behavior that might help a viewer the next time he's on the water. - first timer
