Buying a new tournament caliber boat - need some guidance
As much money as any of those 3 boats are going to set you back, the only way to make a wise choice is to spend time in each of them and decide for yourself. The boats and motors are all fine choices and all you'll get from here, or anywhere for that matter, is opinions swayed towards whatever that person owns. Ride and decide for yourself. You're the one that will have to live with the boat.

PROOF IS IN THE PUDDING: RECESSION IS HERE
Easy. Back in o5 when she probably got her loan, two words: Stated Income. > Many agents took advantage of the programs that were meant to be used for people that could not prove the income they made. It was programs like this that helped fuel the subprime meltdown. There were too many "used car salesman" that entered the mortage industry and wrecked havoc. Sad that I was competing for business against knuckleheads that had no financial background whatsoever. I remember dozens upon dozens of indifiduals that would come into my office wanting to get prequalified for a loan. When I would tell them sorry, you dont qualify, they'd get upset. They simply did not understand that THEY COULD NOT AFFORD THE HOUSE THEY WANTED TO BUY. Sooo, they'd go to the guy down the street that would tell them what they want to hear, give them the loan that they could not afford, and not think twice about what would happen to the poor client 25 months down the road when the loan would adjust. He made his $10k commision, they would get their house, if for only a short amount of time, and for that short amount of time, life was peachy. Now that their pament has adjusted or is going to adjust UP by $1,000 or more and they cant afford the new payment AND are upside down on value to loan amount, they come crying to me for help. And I can't. They've lost their life savings, have no one to turn to, the original guy that gave them their loan closed his shop and went back to selling used cars. Pathetic. Just pathetic.... Which begs the question. How much of this near past home building/buying boom that's now crashing was created by the creative lending of the these shysters? 2nd question. What has the industry done to stop this? As someone who did a refi a few years ago, I can't begin to tell you about all the "lenders" that came crawling out from under rocks when they got a whiff of our desire to refinance. Many of them trying to trump the competition with some of the most ridiculous and dangerous loans I've ever heard of. It would seem to me the banking/money lending industry needs to have learned something of this and begin regulating itself better. To think guys could go around and flagrantly sell these sub-prime loans for personal gain, which are now taking the economy down, is near criminal.

Busch Wildlife muskie/striped bass
I'm not really sure any of those lakes at Busch would be suitable for a fish like a striped bass. Those are big water fish that normally require more deep water than is available at virtually any Busch lake.

Lake Norfork Arkansas.
The twin bridges (101 & 62) are only about 5 - 6 miles down lake from Cranfield Marina. I'm pretty sure that tourney takes out of Panther Bay marina (mm 12). With 500 boats I wouldn't be surprised if there is spill over into Robinson point public use area just down a mile from PBM. Cranfield is the last marina going up lake till you hit Udall. The lake turns into more of a river about 3 or 4 miles south of Udall. There is good fishing up there but you'll be running and gunning since there's less water available. A lot of guys will run up in Big and Fall creeks down lake along with Bennets Bayou which is around mid-lake. Pigeon Creek behind Cranfield BD will also be busy. With 500 boats, it'll be take a number is most of the better coves are creek arms. I'm not suggesting in any way that you run up around the state line (mm 28) from the takeoff area (mm 12). There is good water to fish up there in March but less of it. I don't know how many guys will bother to run up there because of that. Given 500 boats though I'm sure you'll probably be getting away from the big crowd only to deal with a smaller one. I have caught LM up to 6 lbs up the lake. The water has a better chance of being more off color. In late March you could probably find a crankbait or spinnerbait bite going on up there. If you fish down lake you'll be dealing with gin clear water and probably have to go with skinny line. I also haven't fished the lower end below Cranfield much. I'm only suggesting up lake because I'm familiar with it and know I can catch fish up there.

Due to circumstances beyond my control, I've never been able to get started on the restore job. Soon I hope.

Lake Norfork Arkansas.
That lake is quite deep and clear. I don't have much experience fishing the lower end but drop shots and rogues on lite line will probably be the ticket. You could run and fish from Cranfield Boat dock on up into the Missouri portion of the lake.. Not as much water up there to fish but it holds its color better.

What is "High Sticking"
You were playing hockey with a fishing rod and tried an illegal cross check on a defenseman? Dunno.

Fishing/boat shows - a thing of the past?
The big one in St Louis has basically turned into a yacht club sale. There just isn't much to see down there and with the cost at $9 to get in plus the cost of parking that can range $5 - 20, it just isn't worth it anymore. I've gone about once every 3 or 4 years.

Anyone else notice.....
Hmmm... I noticed Glenn was a little snippy the other day in the last slow site post so I thought I'd do a little play on things with the Slow software patch delivery time. I even added the carry on men.....

Anyone else notice.....
how slow the software patch is taking to get to Glenn that'll speed this place up? Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Things Shaky at Work
Stick to your guns Dom. My old shop I worked for had an Ax lady come in as well a couple years ago. We didn't know it at the time but her job was to dismantle the place (employee wise). I was a lucky one. I was the first to go. I made waves and spoke up if things weren't right and that's the last kind of person she needed around, forget the fact my production was the best in the shop along with a lot of other successful accomplishments during my tenure there. She chopped the place from 80 people down to a dozen. Those few that are left played the *** kissing game and still have their jobs but they're miserable. Sometimes you have to stand on your own merits and yours sound very justified. If they can't appreciate that then they don't deserve you. Sadly, the ones that'll lose are those you're helping.

How many ML, M, MH trigger rods do you think is good?
I'd switch the frog rod to a worm jig, I'd get a different spinnerbait rod IMO. You might want to look into an SBR type rod. Allstar makes a 6'9" in either the classic, TAS or Platinum series and many other manufacturers do as well. Most all are M/H Power rating. That's if you throw a lot of 3/8-1/2 oz spinnerbaits around cover.

I can honestly say I've never had the male end of anything anywhere near either of those places, nor will I ever....

Who owns a REVO S or SX
Depends. If you're more reliant on the braking systems of fishing reels to aid in backlash control than I'd suggest the S model because you'll notice changes you make in the braking system much more than you do with the SX. If you're not as reliant on the brakes and have a more educated thumb, the SX might be the reel for you. Especially if you need the 7.1 gear ratio which isn't available in the S reel. Plus the SX is in that cool black color. 8-)

Who owns a REVO S or SX
Is the brake on the S more effective that the one on the SC/SX? I'd image it would have to be , but like to hear it from someone who uses both. Yep. They operate like Cent. brakes on most other reels and you do notice the difference when making changes. As for the mag brakes on the other two? Sometimes I wonder what the heck they're there for. I can pull the side plate off and see how the adjustment works but in real life, cranking the dial from one side to the other seems to make little difference in casting distance. I was going to pull one of the sideplates off this winter and see if you could move the mag plate closer to the spool like you could on some of the older mag Garcia reels and see if it makes a difference.

Favorite Rat'L'Trap Rod?
I use Rat-L-Traps in a variety of situations. If I'm fishing the bait deep I go with a 6'6" med BPS Crankin stick. If I'm fishing in tight to cover and shallow I'll use my BPS IM6 Bionic blade pistol grip. If I'm just throwing in shallow or along or around weed beds I use a 6' Med Crankin stick. If I'm tossing 1/4 oz traps, which isn't often, I move down to my All Star 6' BCM-6 rod.

Who owns a REVO S or SX
I own both reels as well as the SC. As for overall fishability, I can't say one is any better than the other, I honestly can't tell the difference between the two as far as the bearings are concerned. The only big difference is in the braking systems. The centrifugal brakes on the S reels have a lot more impact on casting distance and backlash control than the mag brakes on the SX or SC.

I know of no speaker wire heavy enough for use as TM wire. That's a fire waiting to happen.

Asking your wife's permission...
Back when we were together, my wife was the socialite. I always checked with her to make sure my fishing wasn't going to conflict with a social outing. I also made sure anything I was responsible for doing around the house was done. House repairs, car repairs, etc. Otherwise. I inform her I'm fishing and where, when I expect to return and where I can be reached in case there's an emergency. Otherwise, she's never had a problem. She should've known anyway. Back when we were first dating she had to move from one apartment to another. The Saturday she was supposed to move I had a tournament scheduled...... I fished the tournament and she moved without me.

Some Tolling motor questions
Disconnect the foot control and stow it. Those power drive foot control pedals are junk and don't like being exposed to the elements.
