  1. I've only used BPS stuff so I can't comment any further than that. Rods - I'm currently using Crankin sticks and love them. I especially like the power hump handles. I know they're not everyones cup of tea but they work well for me. I also owned a few Extreme rods. Very sensitive though they're a little heavier than the competition. For the money though (buy them used or on sale) you can't beat them. Reels - I've used a number of BPS branded reels. I currently use a couple of Rick Clunn RCX1000 reels on my crankin rods. Any reel I've had has been pretty darn good. No complaints. Again, buy them on sale for the best value.
  2. What kind of boat are you fishing out of?
  3. Those boats would both be on the high side, weight wise to be towing with an Explorer. Surge brakes would be a must. Not a lot of personal experience with Suzuki's but from what I've heard, when they're running they're a great motor. When they break, well....... good luck.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Washco is one of my favorite lakes. One of the members here, "dink", knows the lake v-e-r-y well.
  5. PB 2 gets pretty busy whether there is a tournament or not. I'll throw Coffman Beach (Gravois arm) and Shawnee Bend (MM 11) into the mix.
  6. Hot, wet and dirty is the best IMO.
  7. They're planning on opening a new store in my town in an old Kmart building sometime this spring.

Have any coffin bill RC 1's in the batch?
  9. If it's a lake I'm not familiar with and that has no maps available I'll find spots that relate to the seasonal position of where the bass should be and go from there. I normally will target areas with cover first. If it's a lake I'm familiar with or I have maps for I'm usually looking for a spot I already pre-selected. I'll refine the search by finding stuff that usually isn't marked on maps, like cover of any sort.
  10. Truman is alive and well and doing fine. Much like any new reservoir after it's initially impounded, it had it's hot years. I was there during the mid to late 80's and I caught a lot of big fish there. The crappie fishing was equally fantastic. It's settled down quite a bit since then but is still a good fishing lake.
  11. I'm not much of a Will Ferrell fan but my son picked up "Stranger than Fiction" the other night. Great movie. Highly recommend.
  12. I never used one but have sold several.. Extremely smooth reels though a little on the heavy side. I imagine the 50/60 series would make great reels for heavier gamefish like stripers or pike.
  13. with the engine tilted up slightly, get on the cavitation plate and slightly jump up and down on it while someone else watches the transom for flex. If you're experienced you can tap on the transom and tell if it's solid or not.
  14. Uh oH!!! Bama Boy Baits??? Pro Staff tested??!! Basshunter69 strikes again. So which one of you guys donated the baby turtles to him? ;D
  15. OK fishing platform, not really good in rough water. Pay very close attention to the transom on that boat. Those Astroglass boats had rotting issues if the the owner didn't keep up with it.
  16. Advantages of Flouro would be less visible under water and less stretch meaning a better feel of your bait. The biggest disadvantage I've noticed of Flouro is knot strength. I believe someone posted some graphs from tests they did on the 2 types of lines and Flouro's big disadvantage was in knot strength. I experience more break offs with Flouro over copoly and they always happen right at the knot.
  17. 1. Spinnerbait 2. Storm Wiggle Wart 3. 7" Plastic worm 4. Rat - L - Trap 5. Jig
  18. All Star, Daiwa and American Rodsmith left off? Goofy poll. :
  19. Nov. 27th. I was fishing with dink, a member here at Washington County lake in Illinois. It was around 12-13". I haven't been out since.
  20. How much good can he do for his young daughter with 6 feet of dirt on top of him?
  21. Stupid is as stupid does.
