  1. I'll second either of those All Star rods. Great bang for the buck. Solid rods with good warranties.
  2. The first number in the prop size is the diameter. The second is the pitch of the prop. To further decipher that, think of a prop like a wood screw. In the case of the prop you have already, with each revolution in the water, the prop would move forward 12 1/2 inches. The prop you're suggested would move forward 10 inches. In other words, the prop you currently have will provide more top end speed but less lower end power, the 10" one will be somewhat slower but will get your boat up on plane easier and faster.
  3. That NSX site is now down for the time being. Here's what you get when you click on it What if you were hosting a nice little cocktail party and all of a sudden a couple million people from all over the world showed up? The site is currently overloaded with traffic, so your session is being denied in an attempt to keep it from crashing entirely. The site can handle about 1,300 sessions at a time right now. Unfortunately you are not one of those 1,300, so please try again later.* Better luck next time! In the meantime, maybe you could play some online poker... I hear it's a great way to win a lot of money. * Please Note: "Try again later" does not mean "sit there mashing the 'reload' button 50 times a second" because if everyone does that, it' s just going to take that much longer for the load on the server to ease up. ;D
  4. No. But I remember this one from a couple years ago over some $100 gears for a truck. They chopped this guy to pieces. ;D http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=399203
  5. Here's possibly the best ownage ever. I'm posting a condensed version. This is on an NSX owners thread. A guy brags how he bought his NSX with $63,000 in cash he won gambling. He's a spammer with a gambling website. Then things really get fun when other posters expose him as a pedophile and a whole lot of other things. Page 1 Spammer NSX_NICK tries to peddle his website by bragging he's made a bunch of money and bought a NSX for $63k in cash. Spammer gets exposed as owner of said website and his name is Nick Sitko. http://www.nsxprime.....9&postcount=21 NSX_NICK denies identity and address. Page 2 NSX_NICK gets exposed for lying about paying in cash. http://www.nsxprime.....7&postcount=52 A Nick Sitko is found on South Carolina Sex Offenders website. http://www.nsxprime.....0&postcount=48 Page 3 Nick Sitko is found on familywatchdog.us http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=115 Thread starts to spread around the interweb. Page 4 NSX_NICK attempts damage control still denies identity and address and the fact that he's a pedo. He's still claiming that he bought the NSX with $63K in a suitcase full of 20s. Page 5 NSX_NICK lies some more against direct evidence. Page 6 NSX_NICK lies some more while being a condescending ******, bragging about his income and new Porsche 911. Page 7 NSX_NICK gets exposed for lying about his income by his postings in other threads. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=302 NSX_NICK's lie bout not owning the poker site advertised in his profile is exposed when pictures of his NSX is found in the site's image directories. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=331 http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=341 Page 8 Nick Sitko myspage page is found. His picture matches the sex offender websites and his myspace is peddling the same gambling sites, proving conclusively what we knew all along that Nick Sitko the spammer/gambler and Nick Sitko the pedo is one and the same. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=364 http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=374 Anonymous poster ran the tag of Nick's NSX and it comes back to a Nick Sitko with the same exact address as the spammer/pedo, proving conclusively that the poster NSX_NICK is in fact Nick Sitko the pedo spammer. Anonymous poster also discovers Nick's NSX has a lien holder on it. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=397 Page 9 and 10 Nick Sitko still denies his own identity, but gets caught deleting his NSX pictures from the poker site's directory. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=455 http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=460 http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=462 Page 11 User Kevin1965 pops up, poses as a random stranger and defends Nick, citing libel, defamation etc. One can safely assume this is one of Nick's acquaintances or it's Nick himself. Page 14 Kevin1965 gets his lies thoroughly exposed by a real attorney. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=674 More corroborating evidence from Nick's mechanic, proving NSX_NICK and Nick Sitko the spammer pedo are one and the same. http://www.nsxprime.....&postcount=678 here's the whole thread on an NSX forum site. The site is getting bombed and occasionally won't load. http://www.nsxprime....ead.php?t=98489 Classic! ;D
  6. Sorry. I just zoomed on Paris Tennessee and the image quality is not high res. If you look just east to KY lake the resolution quality improves. If just depends on where you live. Usually, rural areas don't get the high resolution imagery unless there's some sort of area of interest around you like a volcano or a field full of crop circles.
  7. I still have a pair of original LR lightning rod pistol grips. My wife uses them as her rods. Over 20 years later and those are still very light and sensitive rods.
  8. I have 3 crankin sticks, a 6 ft med and 2 6'6" med. Great rods for the money and great crankin sticks. As for the question on the small crankbait rod, I'd go with a M/L action crankin stick. Another rod you might consider is an All Star Classic 6' Med action model BCM-6. Great rod for tossing lighter baits. You can either get the latest All American Classic or look around for an older Classic. I don't think there's really any difference in the two other than blank color. BTW, never pay full retail for those Crankin sticks. Those things go on sale at least a couple times a year.
  9. Really. I pity any parent who would wind up having to care for a quadrapalegic or brain damaged child due to the stupidity of doing any of these kinds of stunts. Incredible. I wonder how much of this lunacy isn't brought about by the emergence of You Tube as a means to bring attention to ones self? I thought smacking my 18 year old upside his head was sufficient recently when he and another kid purposely sprayed pepper spray into their faces on PURPOSE in order to video it. : Then I watch these kids and I'm thankful that's all he did.
  10. Kimi, the dog on the left, was a rescue. Buster, the cat on the right, came from the Humane Society.
  11. I don't have the Stick Jacket brand. I got mine from Fivebasslimit here. It's the same poly web tubing. You merely cut the thing to the length you need it. There's also these http://www.storsit.com/index.html a little more expensive. In order to help identify each rod I went to wally world and bought some metal rim tags and threaded one on each sleeve. On the tags I wrote down what specific rod it was. A box of 15 was like $2.50. You could further accessorize by adding a large split ring at the tip end of the sleeve to hang the rod although you can hang the rod by the webbing without harming it.

  13. 20 years or so ago, when I was fishing T's, I never noticed that that is exactly what I was doing when I wasn't fishing in a tourney. It just so happened that my young bride at the time brought it to my attention when she and I would go out for fun fishing trips. Unfortunately, it wasn't much fun for her. I was in that mode and was fishing more like a machine vs. just out on the lake for a day of enjoyment. It was her observations that made me realize that I wasn't really deriving that much enjoyment from tournament fishing and that being in that tournament mode was spilling over into my other time on the water. I basically quit fishing T's all together. I found my time on the water is more enjoyable and I'm more likely to take each day, regardless of what I catch, as it comes and not turn it into some sort of athletic pre-event. I enjoy the BFR get together type T's now where there is little on the line (money wise). Folks actually get out there and relax and have some fun. I fished a couple of dinks tourney's he had at a local lake and had fun. Again, small entrance fee and not much money on the line but who cares, it was the fellowship and good natured ribbing that made those little T's fun. I also love the fact that while you tournament guys are bobbing around waiting for your number to come up for the take-off, I'm already on the water fishing, hopefully with at least one good fish caught already. That's what I was missing most, fishing those quiet pre-sun up waters and as the sun was setting and into the early evening.
  14. Wow, is all I can say. The youth of today is dumber than I thought. Anyone doing this is one jump away from clearing the gene pool of one less piece of DNA that shouldn't be passed on.
  15. There's an entire section on boating and buying a boat on this forum. Read the articles thoroughly, then come back and ask questions. http://bassresource.com/fishing/bass_boats.html
  16. Rangers have never been known as fast boats.

  18. Looks like I'll probably go Friday evening straight from work.
  19. Since this thing has gone completely off topic... How about Barbie, the Movie!! I think it's about time. Now who would you get to play Barbie?

  21. A new, out of the box Shimano with a problem? I can't believe this thread wasn't locked, taken down and then buried in the backyard.
  22. Interesting. It was my understanding they were dropping the Pro Qualifier series which were also 70m modulus rods. At this price I wonder if this is the replacement. I've never fished a split grip rod before but am tempted to try out one of the new ASR All Stars. At $75 vs $150 I think I'll give my money to All Star.
  23. Jackplates serve a couple purposes when used in the setup of a bass boat. They provide engine offset. Essentially this is moving the engine further back off the transom which changes it's ability to lift the hull. Think of it in terms of a bar across a fulcrum to lift a load as a lever. The longer the bar, the easier the load is to lift. Now, that's kinda simple in theory and when you get to boat hulls, simply sticking a jackplate on it is not a cure all nor is there a rule as far as the setback distance. Jackplates can be bought with anywhere from 6 - 12" of of setback. Which size you purchase varies from hull to hull. Part of the reason is another purpose of the plate, it moves the prop away from turbulant water coming off the back end of the boat into cleaner water. Again, depending on hull design, the proper distance can be a trial and error deal. The last reason for the jackplate is ability to raise or lower engine height easier vs. a motor bolted directly onto the transom. Just loosen a few bolts and you can make the adjustments far easier. Hydraulic jackplates can be adjusted while on the fly on the water. Expensive though. If you think a jackplate is something that would help the performance of your boat the best thing to do is to get with other owners of the same make and model of the boat you're currently running and find out what they're running. Bass boat setup is a very hit and miss kind of thing and can get VERY expensive in the process of finding that sweet spot. A jackplate along with a matched prop can fine tune your boat for maximum performance. It can also help the overall performance of rigs that have problems with things like holeshot, mid-range performance, porpoising or hull lift.
  24. Split windows do well with the Vette crowd. I'm not really a Vette lover except for the the years of '59 - 67. Those were the only ones that turn my head.
