  1. I watch and love the show. Those guys are nuts.
  2. If you've got all the stuff for it, cables, transducer, mounting bracket, you might be able to get $20-30 bucks for it on Ebay.
  3. Could be a good deep crankin combo or possibly for throwing larger spinnerbaits and slo-rolling them in deeper water.
  4. In a years time mono can become twisted, stiff, aged due to time on the boat deck with the suns UV rays hitting it and stretched. Braid suffers from none of this. IMO, There's little reason to change over braid on a regular basis unless you've been fishing in heavy cover and the braid itself has suffered some damage or the stuff is showing it's age due to being on the reel so long. I keep it on for at least 2 years. Then I just respool onto another reel and get a couple more years out of it.
  5. He got a tip that he would have to share the boat with muddy driving on next years Fork trip. ;D
  6. I dunno. I wish I was about 30 years younger and down in Panama City Beach right about now.
  7. Great video. Looks like a lot of fun and some great bassin was had by one and all. 8-)
  8. and to think it took Bill Dance a few YEARS to come up with the same amount of footage for his bloopers video that you produced in just ONE DAY!! ;D Good one Dom. ;D
  9. Looks like a DP/ST (double pole, single throw).
  10. Welcome. You guys on the western side of the state have many more opportunities than those of us living in St Louis.
  11. Start it on the muffs and let it run about 15 sec or so and then stop it. By then your pump should've had time to fill the filter.
  12. The first thing I thought was the winner will probably be from Missouri and want to run it on the some of the Ozark canoe rivers...... then I saw the boats already located in Missouri so I'm sure he's been rattling Ozark canoers nerves with that thing already. ;D
  13. Nothing I like better than falling in behind someone, fishing "their" used water and pulling a couple nice fish while they've blanked. While I'm reeling the fish in, I keep one eye on them, they're usually talking and watchin and trying to figure out what they did wrong. ;D
  14. If the paint ain't cracked, save it.
  15. These work great. Foot controlled. Variable speed. Just think about where you want to go and it'll happen.
  16. Knew a guy that had a mid 80's glasstream. Quick little boat. Hull was fairly light but also made for a bouncy ride. Other than that can't help ya.
  17. Muddy, don't let anyone, even the posse fool you. Those ABU round reels are tough dogs. Of course the ones made pre 1980 are the really good ones but I've owned 5000 and 4000 series reels over the years and they still make a great, solid product for the money.
  18. If this is a true 5000 red, the brakes you're looking at are really brakes. In the old days you got different sizes and slid the old ones off and the new ones on. They used to have the ones that came on the reel plus one pair larger and another smaller. Those are great reels to learn on. You really have to learn thumb control with those.
  19. Actually, Champion bassboats have been bonding their hull to the deck for over 20 years. Darn near impossible to seperate unless you know what you're doing.
  20. Never heard of the breathing thing on the wood. I'd use epoxy resin to treat the wood, NOT fiberglass. Fiberglass resin is fairly brittle when attempting to use as a standalone sealant away from matting.
  21. I'd go with a beetle spin. Catches bass or bluegill and the catchin is really what's important at that age. Another good lure, though it's not great in the snag free department is a rooster tail. Great for bass and bluegill.
  22. Oddly, the RC1's and 3's are almost as popular as some of the early Bagleys when they're up for sale on Ebay or the forums but just don't demand the same prices. Some of it may have to do with the paint that as stringjam said, tends to crack up all over the place. I've still got a couple early versions, love em.
  23. Good looking boat in nice condition. Enjoy.
  24. There are a lot of really good buys on boats right now in all sizes and shapes. Plenty of guys still trying to sell for a variety of reasons. Let someone else pay the depreciation.
  25. The lake I fished on Saturday still had a shad die off going. Not many but a jerkbait bite was the only thing going. Temps were in the mid 50's. I imagine it's probably just older, larger shad stressed out from the long winter.
