  1. Ok I fished Webb lake last weekend,my buddy caught a 4lber and I lost a bigger one. I will be going back even though we did have a big gator swim close by. And on the plus side I caught my 1st redfish a 5lber.
  2. I just bought an orra inshore reel to use on vacation in florida, I was very impressed just as good or better than my citica es.
  3. For a basstrik use damiki swimbait hooks, their little clips work better than screw locks and the hooks are sharp.
  4. That's why I don't like it, I've been to a new lake and caught 30 some bass, here in indiana 12iners are the average, so to me catching a bunch of em is not impressive. They could at least fish in lakes with 14 or 15 in size limits.
  5. Just wish they would go to weight of best five, right now it's too much of a dink fest, or at least fish somewhere with 15 in size limits.
  6. X2 on 5/16 finesse war eagle.
  7. Like to see the classic moved back to early fall.
  8. Well if you have one of cabelas 20 off 100 or more coupons, and or some cabelas bucks buy the reel. If not buy the type r from walmart.com for 130 free shipping to the wally world near you.
  9. I own both. The Lexa palms better, but both are solid reels. Just wish Daiwa would come out with a Lexa with magforce z brakes.
  10. I was planing on fishing webb lake when I visit my friend in punta gorda, maybe I'll stick to canals and parks looking for snooks, specks and reds.
  11. At Walmart.com you can get a pflueger patriarch for $150 or a daiwa tatula for $100, those would be the best reels at that price point.
  12. Gander mountains 7'11" crankbait rod regularly goes on sale for $49, pro qualifier $50 at bps this week.
  13. I have a couple old 3 in bodies around, I think they made a 3/8 oz. head back in the 80s. Or maybe Mr twister did. Anyways the 3 in one's are good bass lures.
  14. Tatula if your just buying one.
  15. It's the spool tension knob, I had the same problem with mine 2 brakes on no mag breaks bad distance. The tension knob can be much looser than the Shimano/Daiwa reels I have, once I figured that out it casts pretty good.
  16. Find a daiwa coastal 153H inshore special on ebay.
  17. Gander mountains 7'10" guide series $49.
  18. The gander mountains near me still sell new citica es for $80.
  19. Sure, I use copoly for 9 out of my 10 set ups I have braid on 1 for slop/frog.
  20. I have a friend who moved to punta gorda recently, I'm going to visit in late Feb or early Mar and bank or pier fish. Should I target snook and specks, or go for sow bass? Where are some good spots that time of year?
  21. Buy a 2nd spool, that way you can set up for different techniques much easier 50 lb braid on one for frogs and jigs and then a good copoly or fluro for reaction baits on the other.
  22. Nothing against Pinnacle, but when I can buy a Daiwa Tatula for $100 @Walmart.Com and have it shipped for free to my local store, or the nearest Gander mountain stores still have Shimano Citica Es for $80, it's hard to try an unknown. Plus there are plenty of upgrades available for Daiwa and Shimano.
  23. 6'10" H mod-fast St Croix Premier.
  24. Small diameter line, a bc reel designed for small lures will help that ml or m rod.
  25. I used 10, 12, and 14 Siege all year with no problems, it's great line I switched from yo zuri hybrid because it's more manageable and just as strong, though I want to try Gamma copolymer to see if it's better still.
