  1. I like the last generation of pfluegers, the lp and wide, the lp are good light lure casters, the current ones are just Abu Revos with different color schemes and reel grips.
  2. If you don't mind the grip on a rage rod you could buy a 6'10" mxf rod for $89 at St croixs website.
  3. Falcon ml/moderate casting rod with pflueger asaro reel and 8lb gamma line.
  4. Is that Lakeview campgrounds, I have fond memories of being a kid there back in the 80s.
  5. Was that their chromapops or glass lens? I have Kaenons which are trivex but I read Smith polarized their chromapops differently making them even better, which makes me interested in them.
  6. If you go to Shafer/Freeman during the week or in the fall there is hardly any boat traffic, and there are huge smallie in those lakes, plus bonus wipers.
  7. At Cabelas you can buy on sale a Humminbird 899hd cisi for $600, its a better unit than the others.
  8. I don't have a pair, but for $30 get em.
  9. I would probably buy the daiwa as I had silvercasts back in the 80s when I was a kid, but omegas get great reviews so that's probably your best bet.
  10. There are zebco saltwater versions.
  11. Why not call it a curado 100 like the b&d series?
  12. A year ago I was at a Walmart that had brand new citica ds es and gs so I wouldn't say he couldn't find one.
  13. When I was a coangler I took 5 combos plus a spare reel in case of a major backlash. Basically take what UkCats basser said plus maybe at least 1 reel at 6.x to 1.
  14. When I sent them a reel it came back in two weeks fixed, but I never got an email or anything.
  15. Abu orra sx or pflueger supreme on walmart.Com for 80 bucks new.
  16. I'd get the inshore reel, after fighting a few reds you may want to go back again.
  17. I like the ones that say IM10X, really good rods.
  18. I thought St. Croix no longer had the upgrade program where you send them a premier and get an avid while paying the difference.
  19. Typical left wing politics, anti-fishing, hunting, and gun ownership.
  20. When Keith Combs beat Ike in the Texas bass tourney two years ago, Ike was using full cork rods, there are no full cork Abu rods. I've seen other pros do the same thing, and in my opinion the pros use high end rods but keep enough sponsored ones around to make it look good.
  21. 8lb line look for the previous generation pflueger patriarch on ebay with 7.1 gear ratio, just make sure it is not the wide spool version.
  22. Two of my favorite rods are a 6'4" team all star spinner bait 1 rod m/f and a 6'3" team daiwa s top water/twitching mh/f rod. Daiwa also made quite a few 6"3" spinning rods, maybe you can locate a few used ones.
  23. I bought a few and in a team tournament I was really catching them on a xcalibur one knocker. So I gave my buddy a booyah one and he caught nothing, not sure if it was him or the lure, but I'll try it out myself soon.
  24. I'm thinking of getting one, I have a tatula, it's OK but I think I'd prefer the standard line guide. I also see on ebay a new daiwa sol also based on the tatula, from Australian sellers.
  25. Try the rods/reels forum, myself I am from indiana and my friend moved to Florida so I went on a fishing trip and the way those redfish fight I'd suggest a mh rod/3000 series reel.
