A Tube Question
Do what I do. M Casting rod and rig em stupid style. I only use spinning for tubes to skip docks.

Rod shopping on a budget is a nightmare
I am in agreement with the Fenwick Eagles, good rods for the money.

Weedless bass lures aren't
I have one of those jars. Really rusted, wasn't sure if I should try to open it or not.

Lightest (good) spinning reel under $50
I would buy the Okuma for $32. I've used the Amazon warehouse used like new for a Shimano SLX casting reel and a Daiwa Eliminator spinning reel. Both were brand new but had been returned for who knows why. So it should be ok.

Looking for a short, M/L spinning rod
X2 on this rod. I skip docks with it. St. Croix has a 5'9" Avid Mxf that has a line/lure rating closer to a ML, go for that one if you can get a used one.

Adjusting the brakes on my new SLX reel
To me they are a newer lighter version of my Citica 100 DSV's. I highly recommend them.

Spinning Reel Suggestions
The Daiwa Eliminator I bought is new and has the switch.

Spinning Reel Suggestions
The Daiwa Eliminator 2500 I recently bought is a solid reel. Retail is $79.99, pretty good for an aluminum reel(I actually got mine on Amazon new in box for $55 listed as used like new).

BEST GLASSES for sight fishing ?
I had Costa 580Gs and Kaenons, I found no difference in visual quality. Both are better than the Wiley Xs I have. Kaenon and Smith Optics both have a Trivex lens, so do the Costa prescriptions. They are light and strong like Polycarbonates, but have visuals like glass, basically best of both worlds.

Do any of you use baitcasters for T.R.D neds?
Well the one spinning rod combo I had I accidentally kicked into lake Geist a few weeks ago (and busted my Costa Jose 580Gs trying to grab it) so I guess I'm going to try Ned rigs/shakey heads on casting equipment. I have a Pflueger Asaro and a 6'4" Team All Star rod I use for river small mouths as it casts light lures pretty good time to try it on finesse.

Costa “Vented” sunglasses work?
I had Kaenons and Costa580G. I thought the visuals were the same or very close. Both were better than the Wileys I have now, of course Wiley x doesnt break the bank though.

Rod building Newb Question
Yes I wanted to take the grip off one rod to put on another, and I currently have 1 6'6" St Croix Premier glass for accuracy and 1 7' Team Daiwa S glass rod for distance, was looking to scale back and have 1 rod to do it all. St Croix no longer sells blanks I believe so was looking to go a different way, maybe I should just stick to what I got.

Rod building Newb Question
I was looking at the Mojo 6'10" glass rod, that way I could go from a 6'6" and 7' to just 1 rod. I also have a broken Premier rod. Now I hate split grips, how hard would it be to replace the Mojo's handle with the Premier ?

Sneaky sneaky Daiwa
Most of my reels are or have been Shimano/Daiwa but the over $100 Doyo reels are pretty good. I have a Pflueger Asaro reel and it's great. Use it to cast lightweight baits. I also have an Abu Orra inshore which is good too.

Spinning Cranking Rod
St Croix also makes a 7'6" inshore spinning rod that is Medium/Moderate.
-
Clarus or Triumph ?
I use a ml premier for 1/4 topwaters, works great so go with the Triumph
- Frog rods: long or short?

5.4:1 ratio bc for use other than cranking
I like them for hollow belly swim baits, easy to overwork them on faster reels.

Spinning rod love!

St.Croix CS ?
Exactly how their CS worked with me on a broken rod too.
-
Best rod for crankbaits?!
For square bills I am usually target casting so just my 6'6" St. Croix Premier glass is fine. It is M/Mod-Fast.

How is your Curado K holding up?
I just bought one, reminds me of my citica 100dsv with curado size reel knobs.

Pflueger Patriarch XT spinning reel
I have a Supreme XT. It is an excellent spinning reel. Pflueger reels really own the spinning market for the money .
